I let go of the door frame, and I remain standing on one foot. Like a freaking flamenco. With my left foot, I try to feel around the darkness for the next stepping stone.

You feel around and discover that it is not stepping stones as you imagined, but a long rectangular pole, most likely going to the other side, where there is a door, cunningly painted the same colour as the wall. You only noticed because the painter forgot to do the whole doorhandle.

Carefully balanced, I continue to walk along the rectangular pole until I reach the door. I try the knob.

Locked. There is a keyhole though.

I try all the keys I have on me to see if any of them unlock the door.

The one you found in the apple works and the lock clicks.

Sweet! I grin, turning the handle and opening the door.

In the next room you find a small bed with inviting sheets and a book on a small little table next to the bed.

I walk in cautiously, looking around the room. I walk over to the little table and look down at the. I observe the book, bending down to pick it up.

It's a deep blue, with no illustrations on the front. On the front in gold letters is STEPHEN KING written, but no title can be seen.

In that case, I open it up.

The first few pages have been pulled out, leaving you with no chance of knowing what novel this could be.

I begin to read a little bit of it, trying to find out from context. Perhaps it's one I read already?

It appears to be about two boys and a car.

I pause, thinking I recognize the book. Stephen King's "The Car from the Depths of Hell." Or simply, "Christine." Right?
