Without entering the room, I feel around for a light switch that might turn on a light for the dark room.

Sadly, you find no such thing, but you do feel the texture of the wall: rough and stony.

I bend back down, crouching on the balls of my feet. I get into position, holding the silver platter to it is parallel to the floor. I hold it like you might a frisbee. I listen closely for where I think I hear the hissing noise the loudest. Then, I throw the silver platter as hard as I can, hoping the heavy platter will hit the source and break it/knock-it-out.

Your SILVER PLATTER clangs somewhere in the room against a surface of some sort.

Does the hissing stop?

Damnit! I admit it, I'm nervous to enter a dark room with a weird hissing noise coming from it. I look around once more, trying to see if there are any other possible exits, or if this strange room is the only one.

Suddenly a magical door appears and a genie pops out! He gives you three wishes. Your first wish is to be able to see money all around you, so the genie turns your eyes into gold. For your second wish you try to right the first wish by wishing your eyes could see the real world again. The genie returns your eyes to normal and you begin to see images of war, death and horrible acts going on all over the world at this moment. In your terror you cry: " I WISH I'D NEVER MADE ANY WISHES!" and with that the genie clicks his fingers and you are back in front of the dark doorway. ... In short, no there are not any other doors or exits in the room.

((*cries and laughs at the same time. You're terrible, you know that? ...Was my genie Tir by any chance?))
Oh well. Here goes nothing. I decide to enter the dreaded 'dark room,' despite the unnerving hissing. I step as silently and carefully as I can. I don't want to trip after all.

((*Evil Laugh* Well, no, but Tir knows him))
You tread carefully into the room, and the darkness seems to engulf you. The hissing continues.

((God damn social networking of djin!))
For the first time, it occurs to me that the hissing noise might be coming from a leaking pipe letting out noxious fumes. But that doesn't change the fact that I have to get through this room. So I cover my nose and mouth, trying to mask them with my hand. I also know that smoke rises, so I crouch down before continuing on my way. I try to continue along by the wall, perhaps to find another door.

You manage to find a wal and begin to sidle along it while crouched. Sweet mother of Jesus you look like a female Solid Snake. After a while you come to the end of the wall, which connects to another leading off infront of you.

Well, no door on this side of the wall. I continue along the adjacent wall, starting to wonder if I'm going to end up going in a square, and end up where I began: the door I entered from. Oh well, time to check this wall for a different exit out.

At this wall you find a different texture suddenly in the wall against your back. It feels more smooth and...doorish.
