All right, I better straighten out a few things about the Small Glade thread so that when Seven returns, we can pick up without any indecision.
Remember when we were discussing whether or not Evening should think Rojo's death was staged, become enraged, and leave the group? Well, I think that she has become a bit too fond of the pair to react in such an extreme way. She might begin to rant about tricks and deceit (since Rojo just had to sit up and yell 'Boo!' *grins*) but she would immediately remember the discussion she had with him about jumping to conclusions (I read back through the thread and it takes place a page or two before they stop for the night) and immediately realize that she was being unfair. After all, it is unlikely that Rojo would go to such length's to pull of such a cruel prank when everyone really only wants to be friends. Especially when Devon's sorrow seems so real. She'd probably get over her mistrust very quickly and just be glad that Rojo is all right. And she would demand an explanation, of course. ;D
But, since Rojo had to be such a ninny and faint from terror (I'm just teasing! Please don't stab me! You know I love drama...) no one is going to be very happy with Forsan. In fact, poor Evening is going to be absolutely distraught that her new friends and her long-lost uncle hit it off so poorly. (Yes, that is an understatement) She would worry incessantly about the tension between her Tallamous uncle and her human friends were they to travel together, and yet she wouldn't want to leave him behind, having just discovered that she hadn't lost everyone in the ambush after all. So instead, she could leave Rojo and Devon for a short while.
But I don't want to split them up forever. I love our trio way to much for that! So I was thinking that Evening could call an owl to her and have Rojo and Devon take the bird with them as they proceed toward Maderal city. Then, the moment Rojo and Devon get into trouble, the owl she had left with them could fly to warn Evening (since she would have instructed it to do so should something unfortunate occur) and she could rush to their aid and be reunited with Rojo and Devon for whatever adventures follow.
And maybe, just maybe Rojo and Devon could reflect on Forsan's attack and realize that while the older Tallamous male had been foolishly narrow-minded and over-protective, he had only been just that, over-protective of his adopted niece. And because Evening had interfered, he hadn't really done anything more that deliver quite the scare. Or maybe I'm just being hopeful since I want Forsan to return with Evening when she runs off to help her friends because she would be in a melancholy mood if she had to leave him behind forever...though I suppose she would know that she could find him again and soon recover...except that Forsan is now a crucial part of the plot for the amulet he carries that can weakly sense the crystal...*shakes head* I'm not sure. I can't figure out everything you know!
As for where Evening will be when the others move off without her, I think that she and Forsan will just wander a little further into Mrue forest and camp out for a while. Evening has been through quite an ordeal and would need time to rest. Besides, the pair have quite a bit of catching up to do, so Forsan would probably risk the slight chance of discovery and remain stationary for a few days. That way, Evening wouldn't be inconveniently far away and could arrive in a timely fashion to help her friends.
And, finally, since Seven was thinking of having Darmos...visit Forsan since he possess the amulet that can sense the Crystal, he could do so during that span of time.
So that is my plot idea for the next series of posts. What do you think, Rojo? And Seven, when you return...
