Shadow watches the events of the humans...and other semi-human-looking creatures unfold. It was times like this he sometimes had stereotypical Darkling thoughts about insolence and idiocy. But this time, he was intrigued by their behaviour...if he wasn't invisible, he would have considered becoming a human biologist.
Paka watched as the chocobo crashed into the ground some feet away from the group, the small rider flying off and spinning through the air, cackling gleefully. It hits Malevolos straight in the back of the head. The chocobo itself picks itself up and hurries away.
Rojo is still rolling around in the mud with Devon...still yelling ridiculous Ye Olde English.

Malevolos can hera the soft chuckling from his fox rival. "Molly? It certainly suits your terror-driving demeanor. I rather like it, eh Molly?" The fox grins, then looks down at the young girl, still latched onto him childishly. He doesn't say anything, but Malevolos could easily read his look to say, 'Now why didn't you introduce me to your girlfriend? Afraid I was going to seduce her?'
Serena smile widens. "You're a kitsune, aren't you! I love fox!! And I've always loved kitsune mythology!" she continues to beam, even more so. Lief looks amused.
"Really? Despite the negative light human mythology puts on us?" She nods quickly. "Are you and Malevolos friends?"
Lief grins wider before Malevolos gets to injerect. "Oh yes. Molly and I go way back. Why I remember when he was naught but a hatchling!" he says convincingly.
Suddenly, the rider hits dear Molly. Serena winces, ready to run over and see if he's alright. But another interupption comes. Devon had been trying to squirm away from Rojo's grasp in their little skirmish. However, he's JUST realized he's covered in dirt. His tone goes blank and twitchy for a moment before he suddenly bounds up, flailing madly around trying to get the dirt off, clearly freaking out. When this fails to do anything, (well, it seems he went mad since...) he goes on a ramapge.

When Lief teases Malevolos with the feminine nickname that the girls had assigned him, the more observant members of the group (which probably includes only the fox himself) would be able to see a vein begin to pulse in his temple. To say that he wasn't amused would be an understatement. "Pardon me for failing to ask when I first joined your little group of degenerates, but exactly when were you able to escape the curse that the dog placed on you?" His voice sounds as calm and nonchalant as it usually does, but has picked up a thunderous note that hints at fury.
When he catches the look in his rival's gaze, he paces forward, expression dark and angry (and a bit too defensive). Asila, who never did back off once she'd cuffed him, watched silently and tried to decide if she should be amused at the sparring that had taken place, afraid of what the dragon intended to do, or fascinated by his serpentine grace and the dark energy seemed to seethe about his form.
However, they would never find out just what it was that the dragon had intended to do, for it was then that the bright yellow bird crashed into the back of his head. Malevolos halted, his expression carefully blank, as though he were trying to decide just who he would smite for this inconvenience. Asila burst out laughing, lacking sense enough to not aggravate the demonic dragon of darkness, but abruptly stopped when he turned those crimson eyes on her, the orbs blazing ominously. She blinked, exclaimed "Uh...Oh, look, mud-wrestling!" and fled in the direction of the boys just as Devon embarked on his own rampage.

Rojo found himself suspended in mid-air in a cartoonish way due to Devon's speed of leaving. He fell the few inches left and got up to look at the way Devon had disappeared. He turned around, grinning to sweep the maiden off her feet to find her gone. He almost swore.
The small goblin that had collided with Malevolos was now clinging onto his head, the small sharp nails would be trying to penetrate the dark villian's forehead in an attempt to continue hanging on, but then, slowly, he slipped of Malevolos' head and landed on the ground with a noise.
Shadow walked over to a rock and sat on it. He was still watching the people rolling around and yelling, and flying and sweeping and scowling and other human things.

Lief grins wider, not giving Malevolos the time of day by answering his question. He'd just leave him in suspense to ponder how he got out of his curse. Instead, he does what he knows will surely upset him. Though he can't exactly figure why, he noticed Molly's immediate reaction to Serena, and decides to sweep the young girl away from him, right in front of him. After all, the fox was quite a master of charm, and it didn't take long for him to engage the girl (a natural fox and story-lover) in his elaborate tales. She listened with intent, hanging onto his every word as he weaved fantastic tales. Serena was innocent to these scheming men's plots, how was she to know that this would anger Malevolos?
But much to Lief's disappointment, Serena snaps out of being charmed when the goblin goes flying past, hitting Molly square in the head. Her jaw drops, first concerned, but when she sees him to be alright, she can't help but to start laughing. Between his disgruntled look, and the poor golbin's desperation, it really looked too cute. She grins, going over to them, picking the goblin off the floor when he falls. "You ok, buddy?" she smiles down at the critter, not realizing it might not be happy with being held.
She then looks back up to Malevolos. "How about you, Molly? It looks like you recieved some nasty scratches due to this little guy. Are you ok? Want me to get some bandages or something to clean them off?" she asked like a concerned friend. Lief frowns, not too happy he got ditched when he was in the middle of something.
Meanwhile, Devon remains in the background, flailing his arms like the terrified chibi he is, in hopes he can get the dirt off of him. In his mad stampede, he manages to trample Paka (unintentionally). Lief, rolling his eyes, steps out of the nobleman's way (before he too is run over), instead tripping him with a vine. Devon doesn't seem to have noticed, as he's still flailing miserably like a fish on a dock. Lief, tired of the incessant noise, silently pokes him, instantly removing all dirt. Yes, Lief has an aura of cleanliness. Devon stops, staring down at his hands, now clean. He grins, then glomps Lief appreciatively. "Thank you SO much!!!" Lief rolls his eyes, pushing the man off of him.
Nevod, still covered in flour, frowns, then sighs. "I give up." He looks around for Shadow, and upon spotting him, stalks over and takes a seat next to him.

Asila very nearly started giggling again when she saw the poor goblin try to cling to Molly's head, but held back, silenced by the expression of fury that had seeped outward from his gaze and begun to influence his expression. Oh boy, that wasn't good. Since he usually resided in her mind when he wasn't wreaking havoc in such places in this, she knew such signs. His control was slipping.
She tried to catch Lief's gaze, gesturing wildly in an attempt to clue him into the mess he was creating. Of course, the fox knew full well what he was doing, but she was just as oblivious as her friend when it came to recognizing such schemes. Fortunately, Serena's attention was drawn back to the scowling dragon before things could get out of hand. Asila sighed, relieved, and walked over to Rojo, intent on avoiding this madness. Serena could calm the dragon while she would only get into a fight with him. That she would lose. Yep, it was definitely a better idea to stand near individuals who wouldn't feel tempted to torture her.
She pauses and stares at Rojo for a moment before blurting "You are not a friend of his, right?" She points at Paka.
Malevolos, meanwhile, did indeed look as though he wanted to kill something in the slowest method he could think of. Curse the fox, what the hell was he trying to prove? One misstep and the dragon would try to tear him apart out of spite. Hadn't they covered this already? He would not be taunted by a lowly forest beast!
Oh, his thoughts could have seethed in this fashion for a short eternity, but there was nothing like having a goblin dig sharp nails into your head to derail them. He had spun on the thing when it fell and nearly dissolved it in shadow as he had Asila's notebook when Serena appeared to pick the irritating little creature up. He immediately let the energy that he had summoned for the attack scatter. And, if the loss of energy hadn't just darkened his temper by another degree, Serena's use of the nickname would have.
"Let the foolish thing go, Serena. It probably bites." His voice was derisive and slightly patronizing. The angrier Malevolos got the more trouble he had keeping up the act of refined, ancient super-natural being. The pride he held for his dragon heritage, and the disdain he nursed for all other races, was beginning to wear through the polish. The thin streams of blood that had begun to seep from scratches only added to his growing anger. When Serena asks him if he's all right, his gives a slight nod. Already the scratches had nearly closed. When one could transform into a dragon, what was shifting the molecules in one's skin to close a wound in comparison?

The Goblin unfurls from the small ball it was in and looks up at the human that had picked it up. It looks mildly confused, yet extremely cute, y'know, eyes shining widely and all that... "Buh?" said Gurk, tilting his head to look at Serena. The funny thing was that he didn't have a nasty set of teeth like other goblins, he had a sort of beak, and wore flying goggles that were worn out and almost four sizes too big for him.
Rojo's grin returns as the girl comes over to him. After a few seconds he opens his mouth to utter some sweet nothing to her, when she asks him if he is friends with the now trampled form of Paka. He looks at the robed figure on the ground, twitching, his eyes swirling comicaly. "...I wouldn't say we're really friends."
Shadow looks up as Nevod approaches. He blinks with the large (now even larger due to his chibification) white eyes, like two pure white islands in a sea of black.

Serena looks up at the tempermental dragon, then down to the little Goblin, studying the creature. "I don't think it means any harm....Besides, it's a curious little thing. I wonder where it found the goggles? I mean, it must be quite intelligent, since he knew not only how they are supposed to be worn, but also how to adjust them to fit his head." She continues to look down at the creature, smiling. "Curious indeed."
Devon gives up on dealing with the fox, walking away. Only then does he remember Shadow and his floury twin. He approaches them, and though he can now see his darkling, he can't hear him. He turns to Shadow. "Shadow, who is this?" It might sound like a silly question, but Devon knew very little when it came to darklings.
Lief studies the two quietly, ready to pick up anything [discriminating].

Asila looks toward Paka as Rojo does. Since she was lucky enough to possess a good sense of humor in nearly any situation, she could not help but laugh at the dazed villain's expression. "He doesn't look so scary now that I'm not behind bars," She says lightly, staring at Paka for a moment longer before dismissing him and turning back to Rojo. She holds out her hand, introducing herself. She did not seem to remember that Serena had called her by name once already and Rojo may recall it. "Well, my name is Asila, and I'm glad you're not 'particularly' friends with...my little buddy over there." She joked, rolling her eyes in Paka's direction.
Malevolos simply sighed eloquently in response to Serena and brought a hand up to his forehead, rubbing his temples as though trying to ease a headache.

Rojo grasps Asila's hand in delight when she holds it out and kisses it. "M'lady..."
The Goblin looks up at the human above it, then blinks a few times before trying to wriggle away.
Shadow paused. How to explain to Devon. He couldn't...but he tried anyway. First, he pointed to the figure of Rojo, then to himself. Then he nodded, then he pointed to Nevod, then pointed to Devon, and nodded.

Serena lets the Goblin down and turns back to the sighing Malevolos. She stares at him momentarily before grinning with big chibi eyes. "Do you need a hug?"
Devon might have jumped into action as when Rojo kissed Asila's hand (as Rojo is infringing upon Devon's role of charming, dashing young adventurer; and everyone knows you can't have TWO charming, dashing young adventurers in a group) but it went unnoticed by him as he tries to figure out what Shadow could mean. Nevod, becoming annoyed by Devon's questioning gaze, leaps up, allowing himself to be heard.
"Thou are't most unfortunately my lantern, thou cullionly rough-hewn strumpet!"
Devon stands there looking rather bewildered for a moment. But before Nevod can snicker about the dumb look on Devon's face, Devon pulls himself together. Really, it's a defensive for him to return to the snobbish aristocrat stance: the sudden, but slight turn away from the duo with his neck craned up as he stares at his Darkling from the side.
"In civility, you are quite empty, friend. I suggest you ought to work on that, my Darkling, lest you wish people to think you are mean-spirited, instead of just a simple-minded fool," he retorts with pompous disregard. And of course, a look of outrage passes on Nevod's face. And so, bickering ensues in the form of constant barges of well-timed, witty insults.

Asila grinned when Rojo kissed her hand, charmed in spite of herself. "You have yet to give me your name, milord." She said in response, unable to resist the opportunity to bat the long eyelashes that went with her large chibi eyes at him. That was something she couldn't do in real life. And it was probably a good thing, too, since she was so amused by the feat.
Malevolos stared down at Serena, arcing his eyebrows in response to her question. "A hug? What difference would an embrace make when it is not loneliness that ails me now?"

The corpse grinned. "Rojo Rodriguez, at your service, fair maiden..." he bowed low, diving into the flattery like a dolphin.
Shadow plonked down on the floor to watch the battle of wits between Devon and Nevod.
The Goblin, meanwhile, began to puddle around, watching everyone and falling over the hem of his robe every now and then, looking very small and cute.

As Devon and Nevod's insults become crueler and crueler, Serena puts down her arms slowly, perhaps in mild disappointment.
"Because the comfort of a sincere friend sometimes elevates stress, even if the stressor was not caused by loneliness or depression." She then gets a zippity smile and holds out a chocolate bar. "Or I guess you could just eat chocolate. I heard that releases endorphins, and it looks like you could use some of those....but I'm not sure if it only works for girls or not. "
Lief takes notice of the small goblin, and bends over to its height level. Wondering if the small creature might speak some language he knows, he begins trying to communicate with it softly.

Had she realized that Rojo was indeed a walking corpse, she may have felt a moment of panic. But her knowledge of the characters in this world, at least the ones that she hadn't created, had not carried over when she had been pulled into this place. Everyone except Serena and Malevolos were strangers (or in the case of Rojo, a new acquaintance) to her now. And while she had felt the coolness of his hand, she did not think it odd. For all she knew he had poor circulation.
So she only continued to smile, her gaze softening as Rojo's display of chivalry began to win her over. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Rojo. Especially since I can not recall having ever met a gentleman who was half as charming as you are." She said sincerely, even though her phrasing was not usually so eloquent. But she had always had a chameleon personality. Adjusting her way of speaking so that it complemented the mannerisms of the person she was speaking to was almost automatic for her. Yet her politeness had a tense edge to it, because she sensed that Malevolos had now worn out his last nerve and she was afraid he would do something that would make her angry enough to try and hurt him. Her gaze began to nervously shift in his direction every few seconds.
Malevolos' stared at Serena for a long moment, the glow of his chibi-large red eyes intensifying as his temper rose. His jaw locked, and it took him a moment to order his thoughts and prepare his response, but he did respond. And his patience was spent. "Serena," he began coolly, "if you have an ounce of sense left in your enlarged skull you would know that it takes more than chocolates and meaningless embraces to placate one such as I." He glowered at her. "I have had enough of this foolishness!" He would have turned around and stalked away in the direction he had been heading in before he had stopped had a rock not cracked him on his own enlarged skull at that moment.
"Bad dragon!" Asila exclaimed, having pulled away from Rojo before he could even finish his response ((assuming he chose to respond, that is)). She picked up another rock and advanced on him menacingly, furious that he had said such an unkind thing to her friend.
Malevolos turned his smoldering gaze on the angry young woman, his lip curling up into a snarl as she continued her tirade. "I will not allow you to be mean to my friend! If you have a problem, you can deal with me instead." She finished, having stopped just out of arms reach. She set her piercing glare on him, a flat, fearless stare that most people would back down from ((except for my sister *grumbles))
Malevolos only met her glare with a cruel grin and dark look of his own. "It would be my pleasure" He said in his smooth, icy tenor.
And before she could think "Well, that had been an incredibly stupid thing to say," a great fissure opened up in the earth and a large demon that resembled a minotaur (if minotaurs were twelve feet tall, had eyes composed of flame, and talons as long as swords instead of fingers) crawled out of the fiery gap in the ground.
She only had one thing to say, really. "Oh, shit."
