Rojo was suprised the young lady replied with such glamour and politeness. Most girls he flattered giggled and gave him, well...almost hungry looks... "Well, I am most glad to meet one such as yourself, one with such...reverence..." he gave a glance up and down her figure, lingering on no particular part of her body "and may I say what a beau-" but he was interuppted by her exclamation and the throwing of her rock. He was slightly annoyed by her sudden pulling away. He let his arms fall limp and then he hurried after her as the strange man spoke to her. Then, the sky seemed to turn red, flashes of orange lightening seemed to be filling the scarlet sky with doom. Then the great beast arose from the fissure below, looking like an older brother of the creature of greek mythology, looming over the poor little chibis like a great wall with claws and firey eyes. Rojo searched through all three of the languages he could speak for an apropriate curse to use. "Bash'takk mur!" He decided, and had there been any of his family or friends from his native land been present they would have gasped or slapped him.
Shadow looked up, blinking in that curious way he did whenever he saw something new or interesting. Then, carefully, he stood up, and pulled a spiked Morning star from his back and began swinging it experimentaly, a look of mild interest in his big white eyes.
Gurk looked at Lief, about to say something, when he was interuppted by the large mino-thing rising from the ground. He paused, not doing anything for a moment, before giving an exclamation of exquisite joy before running full speed towards the thing, his arms outstretched, his eyes wide with happiness and intrigue.
Paka stirred, sitting up, his head whirling about comically as he lifted a hand to it. Then he saw the great beast of the abyss and leapt up, staring around for who had summoned such a thing. "Cripes!" He exclaimed, "that's a eighth level summoning! How did you achieve such a thing?" He looked in disbelief at Malevolos, as if not believing he, nor anyone else had summoned such a creature, but this dragon, as he so really was, was the only person in their rapidly increasing group with a power level even close egnough.

Serena visbly winced at the sound of the crack against Molly's head. She knew her friend was only attempting to defend her [honor?], as the comment Malevolos had made to her had been rather crude, but actual stone throwing seemed like a little much. To her, there was a difference between trying to stand up for yourself like a civilized person and resorting to tactics. And though she appreciated the though, she didn't think that calling Malevolos "Bad Dragon" (like you might a small dog) was going improve the situation, much less his mood.
But before she could run over and stop Asila from make more offenses, she saw the ground errupt in flames. Even the aristocratic twins stopped their bickering to look over with aghast faces, and Lief held his breath.
Lief shook his head, knowing this was for from an ideal situation to be fighting in. Though he regained his magic, he was still chibi, whereas the foe was full size. And even had he been at full capacity, Malevolos alone was quite powerful enough to keep his hands full. Even more so than him, as he usually won whatever skirmishes he had with the dragon through back-handed trickery and things mortal fools with their "codes" would consider "dishonorable."
Even without knowing what happened to cause the monster's appearance, they could easily tell what was about to happen. So they slowly turned away from each other in almost synchronized movents to face their upcoming battle.
And Serena, the mere little mortal, was still standing relatively close to the dragon from having just been conversing with him. Though part of her was indeed very curious about the new creature in the field and part of the curiousity told her to run over and inspect it, her better logic told her that if she got herself into trouble this time, Malevolos, with his short patience, would probably not call the being off from ripping her into shreds. And at the same time, she couldn't believe he was actually going to attack them. But then again....he did have Asila in a cage (for what, she didn'tknow, as she missed that segment)....and he did try to trick her in his manor....and he did keep her prisoner in his pretty little mansion....
Why was she talking to this man again? Obviously, he didn't have the nicest of intentions and she was being naive. But for the moment, she stood paralyzed in her spot with an emotionless gaze, watching the creature and waiting to see what might happen next.

Asila stared at the demon that towered before her, impressed. Sure, it was terrifying as a Christian bible camp, but on second thought it was kind of cool looking. She still wanted to get the hell away from it, though. She set the rock that she had picked up back on the ground, as though she hoped to placate the creature by dropping her 'weapon', careful to keep her gaze on the minotaur. Then she began to back away, snatching up the small goblin that rushed toward the monster as she did so.
But as she backed away, the creature moved closer, it's eyes focused on her. She began to giggle nervously, glancing at Malevolos. "Hey, if I say I'm sorry, can I go home?" The demon-dragon only answered the question with a viscous snarl that sounded pretty impressive, especially since it issued from the mouth of a cute little chibi. Asila bit her lip and back-tracked faster.
That did it. The demon roared loud enough to shake the ground she stood on and leaped for her. Her eyes widened but she didn't scream (because she never screamed. Yet another weird quirk). Instead she suddenly squeezed her eyes shut and tried to focus on one of the good things she had created, something that could help her.
She might have seemed done for to the little group of chibi characters, but approaching them rapidly through the sky was a flash of silver, moving too quickly to recognize (unless you had met this dragon before) and heading straight for the enraged demon.

Rojo promptly rolled behind a rock from which to poke out from behind, staring frightfuly at the giant Minotaur, watching his companions and their various reactions.
Shadow was about to attack when he noticed the streak of silver, his head moving just as quick as the thing, watching it speed through the sky like a shooting star ((I've come so far, and now I'm in a whole new world with you...)).
Paka threw up his arms in annoyance at Malevolos. "Normally when a god speaks to you, you reply! Or bow...or burst into flame...or cower...or curtsy..." He dipped his head, resting on his hand as he mumbled away into nonsense about temples and statues and for some reason grapefruit.
Gurk scrabbled around in Aslia's arms, trying to get to the demon to hug it. "Bah! Bah!" He kept repeating as he wriggled around, yet not scratching or biting the young lady at all in his efforts to get away from her and towards the demon.

((for the most part, my characters are doing the same thing they were doing in the previous post...*sighs*))
As the silver streak goes flashing by, their gazes are pulled away from the minatour to this new strange phenomena. Questions flew through their minds. Was this another summoning of Malevolos's? Another thing to fight? Or had it come to help them? No one was really sure, and some were rather confused. But sure enough, it looked as though it might crash land on TOP of Molly dear, so perhaps some small sigh of relief might have escaped someone's lips. The thing, whatever it was, seemed to be against the fiery dragon. But that thought wasn't entirely comforting to Serena, who couldn't help but think of the villain as her friend. And yet, she still remains perfectly still.

Malevolos was paying absolutely no attention to Paka. Hell, at this point he wasn't paying attention to anyone save for the silver Asian dragon that spiraled through the sky toward them. He actually managed to reach a whole new level of fury and smoke was now curling around his form. His eyes were pits of flame that matched those of the demon. All in all, he was a very angry chibi.
Saika collided with the demon before Malevolos could even curse his ill fortune, forcing it from it's Asila-bound course. The serpentine dragon wrapped around the monster in a flash, pinning it's wickedly clawed arms at it's side. She lifted her brightly glowing purple eyes to stare directly into the fiery orbs of the demon, a loud hiss issuing from her narrow muzzle.
Asila couldn't suppress a very girly squeal of delight when she watched the beautiful creature come to her rescue. How often had she dreamed of seeing a dragon? She couldn't even count! But she began to worry for Saika when she saw how viscously the demon was fighting back. She had to stop them! Saika was going to get hurt!
Grasping the struggling goblin tighter (Jeez, did he want to get eaten?) she took a step forward, wanting to just charge into the fray and put a stop to it herself. Then she remembered the amount of trouble that reaction tended to get her into and thought better of it. Instead, she turned back to Malevolos. Maybe she could talk her way out of this one? Yeah. Right.
Still...it was worth a shot. "Malevolos, call off your demon! Please!" The demonic dragon didn't even acknowledge her existence. He was staring at Saika with such intensity that she didn't think he had heard her at all. She wanted to scream with frustration.

Rojo was now sitting comfortably on the rock, watching the intense battle of the titans with a sort of combination of shock, horror and amazement all plastered onto his chibified face. Then he hurried over to Asila to see what she was doing. He noticed the Goblin, staring at it for a few moments as if he had seen it before, then when Malevolos didn't reply, he put a grumpy expression on his face, walked right up to the Demonic Dragon and yelled right in his ear. "HELLO? CAN YOU HEAR US? WE'RE GETTING RATHER BORED OF YOU IGNORING US!" Then he took a step backwards, in case Malevolos lashed out sideways suddenly.
Shadow was still watching the dragon which had now entered the fray with a lot of interest, his eyes flicking to every constriction it made around the other creature, examining every inch of the thing, even moving around the two to get better views of the dragon, watching the minotaur trying to break free of the dragon, and the dragon tighten its grip.
Paka had decided he had to do something, and marched right up to a giant hoof, and began the words of a disummoning spell, his memory crusty of the correct ones of such a beast. One syllable wrong could cause it to explode, perform a light opera or anything inbetween. However, instead of "xan" he said "xin" somewhere along the line, promptly causing the thing to stamp on his, crushing him underneath its hoof. "Ow...." came the gutteral reply from somewhere in the ground.
Gurk was now motionless, staring with great shining eyes at the dragon, its silver scales reflected in his large eyes, which were moving over the wyrm's form, taking in the large claws, the purple eyes, the great tail...he gave a sigh, and continued to watch...

At Rojo's loud interruption, Serena suddenly snapped out of it. Even with all the strange things running around, one thing was for certain: Molly was not a happy cabbage. She bit her lip, afraid of what consequences the young man might face with his almost childish remark of impatience. She could imagine the Western Dragon (in a very evil, non-chibi style) suddenly fixing Rojo's boredom with a sudden ice spear through the gut. And as she doesn't yet know Rojo, she has no idea whether or not he'd be ready for a quite violent possibility.
So, she does the only thing that she thinks might work, which seems rather illogical at first glance.
WHACK! The chibi girl suddenly thwarts Rojo with an oversized hammer she pulled out of no where.
"Sorry fella, but I don't want to see another person turned into a mindless shell again..." she thought silently to herself.
On the outside she took up an air of outrage. "Foolish Simpleton! Who do you think you are to not only trounce up here, but yell at Malevolos? Why don't you go scaddle back your blond boyfriend before you anger me..."
Of course, these were not her true feelings, though the looked entirely convincing. She only hoped the man would go away before he ended up hurt. On her own end, she wondered if her actions would be perceived as odd (for they certainly were), since she was always quite calm and peaceful. But then again, she was chibi. Perhaps that could explain the odd nature.
And perhaps, with her little attack, Malevolos might be convinced she was on his side (though she's never really been clearly on anyone's side prior) since she stood up for him. And maybe then she could very very nicely ask him to put away the minotaur and calm down. Maybe.
But then again, she would have another problem now. It's not jsut Molly who counts, EVERYONE would see her as his unusual (and weak) ally. And that doesn't necessarily mean anything good, as this strange new dragon seemed not too pleased with him.
That and Molly dear IS outnumbered....and they MIGHT start fighting ....and by that standpoint, he COULD be defeated....and being his ally means she MIGHT end up in a BAD situation....
Serena silently gulped. How was she always getting herself in trouble? Why hadn't she just stayed out of that crazy boy's way? (Though she did know she couldn't bare to see another guy go mindless and that's why...)
She knew she should have stayed at home studying today.
Lief studied the girl from his distance. She looked frightened for some reason, even when she lashed out at an unsuspecting Rojo for coming close to Molly, like some sort of jealous girlfriend. He wasn't sure what to make of the situation, but he figured anything fighting Molly deserved some help. Lief ditched his humanoid form, becoming a full figured 7 tailed fox. As long as the silver dragon held tight onto the monster, they held the upper hand. But right now, someone needed to go against Malevolos. Get rid of the summoner, the summon is nothing.
Since Molly dear has been so distracted with staring back as Saika, he bounds silently to the left and circling until he's behind the dragon and at his blind spot before he attacks.

The dragon and the demon continued to struggle, Saika employing every muscle in her long body to constrict the minotaur with such force that she could now hear things begin to crack within his heavy frame. The minotaur roared in pain and outrage and barreled into a large boulder, trying to force the dragon to release her grip. Saika hissed angrily, her eyes literally flashing, and bared her teeth as a glowing orb of light began to form between her jaws. When it had gained intensity, she released the ball of light energy directly into the side of the demon's head, shattering it's right horn and scorching it's fur but doing surprisingly little damage overall. The thing was distressingly sturdy. Once again the monster roared and this time sank fangs into the coil of silver dragon that was wrapped around it's chest. And so the fight between the two titans, as Rojo had aptly called it, continued.
Asila cast a startled glance in Rojo's direction when he walked up to Malevolos and yelled at him, surprised. She hadn't thought anyone else was crazy enough to face down Molly! But in this case, there was nothing better than being proved wrong. She sent him a grateful grin and a salute, not a surprising reaction considering it was coming from a girl who saw life as a war more often than not. Pick a side, soldier! We fight at dawn!
So she was shocked speechless when Serena seemed to turn on them, her eyes widening comically and her jaw dropping. No way! When she had created the fascinating villain she'd never seen this coming! She frowned. In hindsight that seemed kind of short-sighted, but other people weren't supposed to do crazy things like this! But even as part of her mind sympathized with Serena for siding with such an awesome villain ((*grins*)), the section that was logical insisted that this just didn't make sense, that the Serena she had come to know and love wouldn't turn on her friends like this. And so she just stared, a tug-of-war of sorts now taking place in her mind.
When Rojo yelled in his ear, Malevolos did a creepy, Excorcist-style head swivel in his direction. But before he could reap any form of icy vengeance on the corpse, Serena took over for him. He smiled when she struck him with the large hammer and chuckled at her witty comment, his gaze losing it's demonic light and returning to it's normal shade of ruby-red that girls like Serena and Asila would no doubt consider pretty. "Serena?" He began, impressed. His voice had actually lost some of it's arctic chill. "My dear, I am impressed-" but he couldn't finish because he had just seen Asila's expression shift in his peripheral vision.
Asila's gaze had shifted to Lief as he moved in for his attack, mesmerized. She didn't mean to stare, really. There was just so much going on and her ADD-slowed mind didn't stand a chance of keeping up. Given time to think about this later, she would realize that she had behaved stupidly, that if she had had an ounce of cleverness in her easily-distracted mind she would have disguised her reaction, but she didn't have that time now, when she needed it.
So she watched the beautiful nine-tailed fox leap toward Malevolos and just couldn't disguise her expression of awe. And of course Malevolos, being the manifestation of the darker side of her mind, could read her as easily as she could read him. He spun aside, grabbed the fox by his pelt as he passed (the way you might imagine someone to pick up a misbehaving cat and toss it outside), and tossed him into the fray that Saika and the minotaur had created, sending the three crashing to the ground.

Rojo was waiting for the dark-clothed man's reaction when he was suddenly smashed over the side of the head with something unknown. He was sent flying, typical chibi style, off into the sky, spining both his arms and legs, along with his eyes as he clicked away in a twinkle of light. As he shot into the stratopsphere, he thought angrily These things aren't supposed to happen to the good guys...what she hit me for?
The Darkling watched as the fox was tossed into the fray of Dragon and Minotaur. He quickly strapped his morning star to his back to stop it from clanging into his spine, and started a run up, turning it into a sprint, running through the partly parted legs of the great creature and began to try and reach for the fox as it fell towards the battling creatures, his eyes focused on the moving figure as it sailed through the air.
Paka didn't see much, as he was currently squashed into the ground, his eyes swirling comically again in the way they did every time he got hurt.
Gurk looked at the girl as she whacked the man away, his head following the disappearing man with a slightly open mouth. "Wheeeeee..." he said absently, watching Rojo spin away. Then his head flicked back to Malevolos and Serena, his gaze forever flickering to something new.
High high high above everything, Rojo slowly turned in the space above the planet, his head pointing downwards, he slowly started to move back towards the ground. "Oh, bugger..." he said apprehensively, trying to look up- well, donw- as he hurtled faster and fasters towards the ground, soon a small flaming aura had built around him, his entire body was on fire. He didn't really want to move, but he turned around onto his stomach so he could look down, and soon egnough he could see forests, mountains, great plains of grass, the sea, where two ships stood side by side, there were a collection of large red line marks coming from both ships to show arguing or yelling, or even a fight ((Ooooh, foreshadowing!)), golden grass in fields near great cities, and cliffs where many women stood and mourned their husbands in terrible cliche way. But, sadly, Rojo noticed nothing of this, as he was screaming very loudly as he span out of control, right in the direction of the two great creatures fighting. Well... he though Best land on something soft...maybe that girl's head? He added spitefully, but instead tried focusing on embracing an old dwarvish tradition of "nuttin'" This consisted of one person running at another person as fast as possible and smashing their head on the other's. Save now it was far more uneven. Now it was a large minotaur beast from hell against a small, chibified flaming corpse.

((I'm tackly adding on the Nev?Dev yaoi in the begiining of this post. JK))
"Ahck! Rojo!" Devon watches his friend go flying, and then turns to give Serena a dark glare (though she doesn't notice). He prayed that being Chibi might some how cartoonify the laws of physics and that Rojo would return entirely mutilated. But in the mean while, he looks over to Serena. How could she, the treacherous minx! It was wrong to assume that she would be a on their side. Devon was ready to march over there when suddenly, he was grabbed by the shoulder. "Wait..." Nevod said softly, holding him back.
Serena held back the urge to wince when Molly threw Lief over his shoulder and into the battle as if it were nothing. She didn't like this at all, but right now Molly seemed to have the upper hand at least. So now that the minatour was taking on both the fox and the new dragon, leaving MOlly with nothing to do, she could squeeze in a word with him. He had seemed to be pleased with her, but she had no idea if he'd listen to her in the middle of a battle. Still, she had to try, as she felt she was the only person he might, just might listen to....if he didn't take her advice as treason and feed her to his pet demons. Nonetheless, she was only a few feet aways from him, so walking over would be easy at least.
Lief yelped at the sudden throw, smashing into the other two. But it was no time to stay down, he quickly rebounded and got off before something might latch onto him. Lief didn't like medium-large battles like these (he prefers one-on-ne). As a fox, he might be fast, but his physical strength is nothing to boast about. And while for this reason it may seem unusual for him to prefer one on one, the fact of the matter is one on one, he could easily utilize other "resources" without other getting in the way. Since this is not the case, he is unsure what to do. His magic is strong, but he is unsure if that alone could defeat the demon and molly.
Before anything else, he turned to Asila. He cannot speak human tongues in this form, so he hopes he can convey the message of "DO NOT LOOK AT ME YOU SET OF EYES FOR THE ENEMY" with just his gestures. And then he bounds off.
He begins runnng back at Molly at full speed, though futile as that may be. But suddenly, something catches his eye. Yes, why hadn't he seen it before! Molly does have a weakness! An ally, a weak human girl furthermore. Lief could only wonder what a dragon whose soul devotion is to enslave humanity is doing with a young girl llike Serena. But it doesn't matter, since it's just the advantage he needs.
Just a few mere feet before Serena reached the safety of Malevolos's area, and just as she was opening her mouth to suggest that they end this battle (and list her reason for why they should of course), the fox swiftly bounds in front her and whisks her away. Of course, this is not something that would go unnoticed, as the just seconds later the girl errupts in blue smoggy fire and the kitsune returns to a humanoid form, smirking proudly, waiting to see how Molly will react.

The minotaur lost it's balance when Lief collided with it, crashing into the ground like a fallen tree. Saika managed to keep her grip, which wasn't all that hard when she was wrapped around the monster with crushing force. Her head swiveled on her long, serpentine neck to catch a better glimpse of what had struck them. She watched the fox bound off the moment his paws gained purchase and wished him luck in whatever venture he had raced off to meet. But she couldn't spare any further thought on that topic, for the minotaur was already struggling back to his feet. The demon didn't manage to do so, for in the next moment a flaming figure crashed into his skull. The monster fell for the second time and this time did not immediately struggle to his feet. He was staring sightlessly at the sky, stunned.
Asila had absolutely no trouble keeping her gaze off of Lief this time around. Her expression had become vacant as she retreated into her mind to puzzle out just what Serena was up to. She wasn't making much headway since her thoughts were only just beginning to pick up now that the initial shock had passed. She had nearly forgotten about the goblin she still held in her arms, even though he was never entirely still or silent. In fact, the only thing that snapped her out of her out of the dumfounded stillness of her mind was the surprising stunt the fox had just pulled. Her heart practically stopped when Serena burst into flame, but her fear for her friend sharpened her thoughts and she was able to remember the look the fox had sent her. Oh, that's right. He had a plan...
Asila reflexively hugged the goblin closer, a nervous reaction, and managed not to charge the fox even though watching her friend 'burn' made her edgy. To say the least.
Malevolos stared at Lief, his expression as calm as the eye of a hurricane and twice as deceiving. He wasn't consciously trying to fool the fox; he was just so full of rage at this insufferable example of interference that even he, a being born to hatred, couldn't channel the emotion immediately.
This calm didn't last long. When the fox engulfed the girl in flame, Malevolos bared his teeth and released a feral snarl of outrage. The next second he was only inches away from Lief, having closed the distance between them with the same eerie speed that the witch in Spirited Away had used to accost Haku. "What have you done, fox!" He roared, spitting out the last word as though it were the most vile of insults.

"Get out the waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!" Then they collided. There was an almighty THUNK, as if suddenly someone had hit a giant gong, and then slowly both Rojo and minotaur collapsed. His poor little ragdoll body lay, battered, bruised and burnt to a crisp on the floor by a tree. His eyes weren't swirling now...they were empty, and devoid.
Shadow had realised that nothing could be done to help anyone, and was now thouroughly confused who's side he was on. Unofortunately he turned away to watch the others, and didn't see Rojo collide or roll off the side of the road. The Darkling moved up behind Malevolos and smacked him one around the head just for interuppting his train of thought before running off again to stand by Devon and Nevod.
The goblin was suprised at suddenly being pulled tighter, and he liked the warm cuddly feeling. It reminded him of his nest. He yawned, making a small noise before cuddling up to Asila's shoulder (careful not to hurt her with his beak), and went to sleep despite the chaos.

Nevod begins contemplating out loud. "This is a strange battle. It begin with an arguement between that one dragon and the human girl. Then Miss Asila throw a rock and became involved to defend the girl. At this point, we all assumed the girl to be on our side, since we were defending her....but then suddenly she turns tables and goes back to the dragon's side. Then another dragon shows up to help us. Then that fox jumps into action, but he does something perfectly villainous. So who's what on what side?"
"Ahh, Rojo!" Devon put a hand on either side of a his cheek with a worried expression. "Shouldn't we go get him or something?" the noble points to the battered body. Nevod continues to quietly contemplate, shoving his lantern aside. Devon gets swirly eyes as well.
((Hey Rojo, do you get the feeling that Rojo and Devon are just in this rp to create random comedy?)) Meanwhile~
The fox just grinned at his obvious rage. He had him now. "I'm going to be candid, Malevolos. I don't know what your relationship is to this human, other than she has at least some importance. And I'm not going to buy anything you say along the lines of, 'Oh, she's not important. I'm just angry that you took something of mine!' I already can tell that is not the case since you usually consider humans splinters in the dragon race, and surely you would not object from me removing a splinter? But you needn't feel so concerned. As of now, the girl is perfectly safe and removed from harm's way. You just don't know how far she is removed.
"So I'm going to skip the formalities and negotiations. The way I see it, you have several options right now. You could kill me, we are, after all, only inches apart, and I am perfectly in your grasp. But do remember that if you do kill me, you'll have sealed her fate as well. She'll be trapped in the area I sent her to, and out of everyone's reach, not just yours. And then she'll start to die slowly from starvation and dehydration.
"Choice two would be to not kill me, but insist upon continuing your idiotic little battle with these fellows," Lief indicates to everyone else fighting in the background. "In this scenario, I might stick around for a while, but if things start go badly or get boring, I'll leave. You might win the battle, you might lose the battle, I'm not going to pretend to know, but once again, in this case, you'll never see the girl again and she'll be mine to do with as I wish.
"And of course the last scenario. You dismiss your demon, you surrender quietly to us, and the girl does not meet with any harm and goes free. There are your options." Lief smirks with some pride. "Oh," he adds in as an after thought. "And you might not want to harm me, since you never know if I might have cast a mirror spell on the girl and myself, meaning that we'd share any sensations of pain."
Elsewhere~ Serena slowly begins to open her eyes. She feels woozy, like if that smoke/fire drugged her. Who knows, maybe it was a GHB. She sat up slowly, putting her hand to her forehead, the other used to help prop her up. Her vision began to clear slightly. She noticed the soft, squishy feeling beneath her hand. Satin or silk. She was sitting on a bed, a comfortable one. For a second she freaked out. Maybe it WAS GHB! The date rape drug! She was lying on a bed..... She shuddered, but then realized she was still fully dressed. And her clothes didn't feel awkward on her, like someone else dressed her.
In any case, she hops off the bed to inspect her surroundings. A lot of other silks hang loosely from the ceiling or drape down along the walls. She notes scrolls and various other books that look like ancient texts. In fact, everything has a every primal feel to it, like she stepped into a cozy room from a millenia or two ago. But then she realizes something else. It feels, more or less, like she's underground, like in a den. There are no windows, or sources of natural light. Even the structure of the room is more oval than anything, unlike a room a human would create, which would be boxier. She pushes back a drape and notices that it is a cavern of some sort.
She tries to recollect her last memories. She was walking towards Malevolos, when that fox, Lief, grabbed her. She remembered the blue fire/smoke. It wasn't painful, just shocking to see your body dissolve like that. Then...she woke up here. She wondered how much time had passed. Though being in a den would make sense now.
Still, she doesn't want to waste anytime. She's not sure what's going on, or how to get out, but maybe there's something she can find, or do... She starts rummaging through all the books and scrolls, but everything is in another, undecipherable language. She sighs, sitting back down on the bed, unsure what to do. Though something catches her eye. Across the room lies a small ball on a desk. It's sort of shiny, but not glowing or too unusual looking. In fact, for a room filled with magical items and ancient knowledge, it looks rather like a children's toy. She grins, wondering if the fox part of Lief still has some unfathomable love for toys, like how cats love yarn. She pauses for a moment, trying to remember something. In either case, she gets up and heads toward the ball.

((Apparently I was an idiot for worrying about length. Try not to get too confused by Malevolos' little speech. I'm not entirely sure if it's coherent. )) Saika disentangled herself from the fallen demon, battered and exhausted. She just wasn't up to the task of defeating such a monster. As far as dragons went, she was still an adolescent, and being strong for her age just wasn't enough. She knew the demon wouldn't stay down for long, but the poor human (she didn't yet know otherwise) who had downed the monster didn't look well. She paced over to him and lowered her snout to his chest. Even though she could neither hear nor feel a heart-beat, she tried to transfer every ounce of energy she could spare (without weakening herself too greatly, of course) into that poor, battered form. She glowed softly with her effort, her sinuous whiskers twisting upon a non-existent breeze and her silver mane weaving to the rhythm of that same unseen force. The blackened skin became smooth and white once more, the bruises faded, the wounds healed; but would it be enough? When she no longer had strength enough left to share, she broke contact but continued to gaze hopefully at the fallen human. She would hate for him to die when, however inadvertently, he had helped her. The minotaur, true to Saika's prediction, had already begun to stir and was now climbing to his feet, his fiery gaze locking on the dragon and the human that had attacked him (for that's the way he saw the collision; as a premeditated affair instead of an accident). Asila blinked when the goblin cuddled closer and fell asleep in her arms, smiling despite the dire situation that continued to play out around them. Aw, wasn't that cute? She automatically began to shift her weight from one foot to the other in a gentle rocking motion and quietly sing a song beneath her breath. If her cat liked to listen to her sing, why not a goblin? She would have glared death at anyone who pointed out just how motherly these actions appeared, but thankfully everyone was too distracted to notice. So she just continued to sing the mellow lyrics to a song that had inspired her when she had first learned to sing them in fourth-grade choir and dismissed the uncertainty that surrounded her. There's a hero if you look inside your heart, you don't have to be afraid of what you are... ((I've been made fun of for liking that sappy song before. *grins* Hey, I like what I like.)) So now the goblin had an over-protective maniac on his side. Lucky, lucky. Malevolos thought Lief's first scenario actually sounded pretty damn good. He had even gone so far as to shift into the form that emphasized his demon heritage. His blunt human teeth sharpened into pointed fangs, sharp horns pierced the skin over his temples, and leathery black wings spanned behind him as he eyed Lief the way a starved falcon will consider a mouse. Of course, in chibi-form he just looked cute. But rest assured, he would look really, really scary if he were in the proper reality. He narrowed his eyes and began his response. "You notice more than is convenient for either of us, Lief. Yet your clever observations are flawed in the very narrowness of their scope. Perhaps that human girl has managed to prove herself of interest to me. Perhaps I would even regret her loss. But are you really naive enough to think that such a tenuous attatchment could ever be used to deliver a blow severe enough to sever me from my freedom?" The demonic dragon chuckled darkly, his bright crimson gaze never leaving Lief's golden one even during that mocking parody of mirth. "Much has happened since you and I were youthful rivals, Lief. I have since developed a predictable tendency to cast aside anything that restrains me from my goals." "While your use of the girl as a bargaining chip does carry weight, she is but a spark to my all-consuming flame. I will not extinguish the last to save the first when that ember is bound to fade before many more years have passed. And so you stand on a shaky platform, my friend, but you do not have to damage the one thread that prevents it's collapse. Return the girl to me and I will dismiss the demon. In fact, I'll even be so generous as to allow you to escape this confrontation unscathed. But if you refuse to relinquish the girl to me, I will personally escort you to the depths of hell." Malevolos let that sink in for a moment before spreading his hands in that universal gesture that said "there's nothing for it" and ended the modified proposition with triumphant closing lines. "As you can see, there are only two choices to be made. Whose life will you relinquish, fox? Hers..."Here he paused for emphasis, "Or yours?" Oh yes, if Lief's trade was trickery, Malevolos' trade focused on intimidation and threat. What would Lief do with a rival mind that was too rigid to bend?
