Hi people of Foxflame!
The name's Raigon (which means God of Thunder in Chinese) and I'd love to aboard this cool board. I've had all sorts of role-plays and ideas in my head that I would definitely love to share as well as read some of your own creations I definitely welcome any inputs, suggestions, thoughts, and love/hate (preferably not hate). XD
I currently have a few stories that I've created in my head, one of which I'm actively writing. I'm going to write down the title of some of the stories as well as a brief introduction of what they are. Mostly titles first, and when I have time I'll fill them in.
So here are my stories:
Evolution Fighters - A Story that takes place in the Free Cities of Greece, focusing on the interactions between Sparta, Athens, and the City of Shadows - Troy. While I do include some elements from the true history, note that the setting deviates a LOT from it and I have added most of my own originality to it, so you have been warned.
Summary: To be posted...
Intern: Sons of Hippocrates
In short, it's about two organizations - good vs evil. The Sons of Hippocrates who have code names and extremely bad-ass doctors who mysteriously pop up from place to place and have the ability to save hundreds of lives with a single finger.
The first entrance of a doctor from the Sons of Hippocrates is a doctor by the code name of DocX. In a hospital, a huge outbreak suddenly hits and massive amounts of patients swarm a hospital in the hundreds, with not enough staff and equipment. And while the staff does their best to contain the situation and save lives, the situation looks bleak as patients die one after another by the dozens when suddenly, the lights start turning on and off and all the medical equipment start going haywire. And all of the sudden, the electricity goes off and the hospital goes black.
But instead of getting scared, the whole place turns silent as the doctors hold their breath in surprised, but eager wait. "He's here!" exclaims a doctor. "HE's here!" And nothing is heard but footsteps coming closer and closer, followed by silence. A dozen heartbeats later, the foodsteps retreat, the equipment and light switches on and all the patients are mysteriously in stable condition, all of the procedures done with minute precision and all meds and supplies replenished.
DocX is but one of the many amazing doctors in the Sons of Hippocrates. There's also DocY, a young 10 year old prodigy who has mastered the puppet suture technique and can do 10 surgeries at once, one with each finger, DocZ who can look at you and know exactly what height, weight, and your conditions are and what doses to use, etc. DocL, a funny little doctor originally viewed with no talent, but likes to boast. He has a funny backstory.
One day, DocL showed up and said he wanted to join the Sons of Hippocrates. The other members had to stifle a laugh when they saw him during their entry trials and found out he is all boast and no substance. So, yes he failed of course. But he doesn't know that. And they decided that in order not to hurt his feelings, they humored him and said he is awesome and a talented doctor and all he needs to do now is answer just one final question. So Hippocrates asked him a very difficult medical question and stumps him. And he tells him not to return until he finds the answer out. DocL, wanting to join very badly, goes home and studies a ton and luckily finds the answer, and returns the next day with miraculously the answer. Surprised, the other Docs ask him harder and harder questions, and he goes home and studies hard to keep up his so-called "reputation". And doing so he becomes the most knowledgeable doctor in the field of medical theory in all of the Sons of Hippocrates, and the only one to enter through sheer dumb luck.
And there are 26 doctors in total, from DocA all the way to DocZ.
The Sons of Hippocrates can never reveal their full names and must only use code names because they have snatched so many lives from Death that the Grim Reaper, who reaps soul to give to Death in order to fulfill "The Plan", the messenger of death, has been angered and vows to hunt them down and kill them all.
Against the Sons of Hippocrates, pitted them against them are the Surgeons of Azrael, who are evil and/or insane and work for a higher power called Death. Whenever you are asleep or dozing off, you may wake up to find your kidney missing, a chip surgically implanted in your head that could be set to blow up at any second, and modifications made to your body (and you find out you're kicked out of your house because you've had plastic surgery done on you and your parents don't recognize you anymore); in other words - they use surgery to harm or kill you in horrifying ways.
They work directly for the Grim Reaper and Death and plant what they call "Seeds" in your body. A lot of outbreaks in the past, such as the Black Plague, were "seeds" planted by the Surgeons of Azrael and claimed millions of lives. And at the head of the organization, the most powerful of the surgeon is a mysterious woman called "Fayte" who can read you at your genetic level and plant the ultimate seed in your genes to alter your destiny. And the scariest thing about her is, her surgeries leave zero trace. No doctors, not even the Sons of Hippocrates can directly tell that her victims have undergone a surgery by Fayte - at best they can only hazard a guess. Because her patient can die through other causes, or due to her seeds, it is very difficult to tell if they died because of Fayte or their original destined course. And the seeds can awaken to turn them into serial killers or tyrants. It is believed the Adolf Hitler had been modified by her at a very young age, as well as many other cruel men and women of the past. She has been around for centuries and has consistently modified her own genes to the point that she could live forever.
And in the beginning of the story, Death hears a prophecy of a young boy has the potential of genius or madness, but if guided correctly by the powers of good, has the potential to wipe out the Surgeons of Azrael. Death, not willing to take a chance, sends his Surgeons to find and kill the boy, and have the Grim Reaper reap his soul so he cannot reincarnate.
Meanwhile, Hippocrates, the Doctor of Light knows about this news and sends his finest doctor at the time - DocN to find the boy, modify him using surgery so he cannot be located by Death or his agents and smuggle him out into the world. A vicious struggle ensues as DocN and FayTe battle for command of the boy's body for surgical modifications. DocN's flying suture techniques sends needles flying in both the boy's direction and FayTe's direction as he tries to both fend off FayTe and rescue the boy, while FayTe brutally takes apart DocN's body one piece at a time with her scalpels.
The Grim Reaper comes by finds a home smattered in blood and DocN lying against the wall, clutching his side with the boy gone and Fayte fled in defeat.
After what was a very violent struggle, DocN has won the battle for the boy, but knows he lost his life even as he desperately tries to limit the damage with his surgical skills. At his dying moment, he smirks to the Grim Reaper, able to see him as he is dying and knows he cannot be saved. In mocking words he tells the Grim Reaper that he has arrived too late. The boy is long gone and his shadow disappeared, so he is now completely out of reach of Death. He may have lost his life, but he has foiled his plan and not even Fayte with all her skills can locate the boy until he becomes of age.
And he laughs, welcoming death, as the Grim Reaper scythes his soul in rage. And the boy is the main character of the story - by the name of Nick (yes based on me) and his discovery of the Sons of Hippocrates, his disappointment at the dark politics behind medicine, and his own path to revolutionize medicine. What he does not know is that while DocN saved his live, he has been planted a very subtle seed by Fayte and in many situations is a coin toss away from madness and genius. And at times, he is excited by the thoughts of blood and death and blanks out for long periods where he almost kills patients out of insanity. And the seeds get stronger and stronger as his periods of blanks get longer and longer.
He struggles everyday to battle against his urges and insanity, and at the same time, avoid the Grim Reaper, and the Surgeons of Azrael who is at every corner, trying to find him and kill him before the Sons of Hippocrates reach and find him.
And in his journey to cure his condition, he finds out that in the bottom of his hospitals, were ancient texts that are not medicine related, but rather broken pieces of history. There is a time in the history of the world that is completely forgotten called "The Blank Decade". Those 10 years have for some reason disappeared from all history records and no one knows what is going on, why Death is the only God still alive. He finds out about "A Plan" written in the texts related to the Blank Decade and many horrifying and unknown pieces that he wants to put together and seeks to finds out that the history behind the Grim Reaper, who was once human, and what happened in the Blank Decade, and why all the Gods are dead.
Book 1 is about introducing the Sons of Hippocrates, his journey to becoming a doctor, and his clashes with the Surgeons of Azrael and the Grim Reaper.
Book 2 is the race of time between the Sons of Hippocrates who is trying to reach him, recruit him, and protect him before Fayte's seed fully awakens, and the Surgeons of Azrael trying to reach him. In this book, the seed planted by Fayte start to awake and he starts blanking out and reaching points where he finds people around him near killed and his own hands covered in blood. Trying to find out about his condition and how to cure it, he stumbles upon a hidden library in the basement of his hospital and finds texts no one has read in a very long time.
Book 3 is about Death's plan coming to fully awaken. War between the Sons and Surgeons break out and the seed nearly fully awakens in Nick as he finds it harder and harder to control his urges. And in this book, he finally puts together the pieces of the puzzle, why he is the cause of the war, and what the Plan is - why all the Gods are dead and what actually happened in the Blank Decade.
Roam - This is probably going to be my most ambitious and most powerful story, with the biggest scope and my highest expectations. In other words, this is going to be my greatest story and the one I will focus the majority of my energy on.
Summary - To be posted
High School: The Rules of Hierarchy This is going to deviate a bit from my previous three, as this will focus on normal high school students. No super technology, no magic, no super strength - emphasis on normal. This circles around the struggles of students and their own ways to exert dominance in the school. There will be the smart kids, the jocks, the bullies, the cool kids, the popular kids, the good looking kids, the rock stars, the loners, the EMO's, the Goths, etc and all of them will use their own way to get to the top.
Now, before you say anything, yes the title is a bit based on Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin, and it does have its light and dark moments. But you'll find that it does NOT have anything to do with his Song of Ice and Fire series at all.
There might be spin-offs, depending on whether these stories become popular. I'm thinking probably a story on "The Gamers' Society" from Roam, which will be extremely bad-ass if made into an independent story.
Anyway, I'll update this soon and you guys let me know what you think!
Cheers! And look forward to reading some of them!
