I just thought I should create a "look what I'm up to!" thread, so that I don't have to create a new one whenever I feel the need to announce some temporary change in my appearance and or life. This time, I just got a new haircut. And while I was trying to take a few pictures of myself with said haircut, I goofed off a little bit, too. So yeah. This my favorite normal one. It's my profile picture on facebook now, because I'm too great a coward to post one of my more spastic pictures. Here I'm arcing an eyebrow at the camera. Pretending to be the Cloverfield monster. LOOK AT MAH CLAW HAND! RAWR!!! This picture turned out blurry, but I guess that fits. I'm trying to glare into the camera here, but I just look emo. And like I've been punched in the face on top of it, thanks to the shadow of my hand and it's camera. Maybe that's why I look emo. In all seriousness, I think it's just my eyes and the way that they tend to look sad, no matter what I do. ((If this image won't show up, here's the direct link. i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff505/PowellAJ13/DSC00253.jpg )) I pulled off the glare in this one. I think it's the shadows that make it work. ((Grr, I resized all of these pictures to six by five inches, and they still look huge on my monitor. Yet I am too lazy to fix it. Oh well. You get the idea.))

Awww, you're so freaking cute! *Huggles* I could just kill you, stuff you, and put you on my bed! *ponders* Well, you are coming over this weekend so---
*ehem*
You're new haircut looks really great! And it looks so punk with the color in it! Your pictures are great too. I don't know, I'm just loving the claw picture. Maybe you should have that up as your profile pic. *giggles* However, the last glare picture does look cool with all the dramatic shadowing. You forgot to note that you're also in a position where your head is being crowned by the mask's spikes in the background. That also adds a bit of an affect.

Don't stuff me! I'm cuter alive than leathery, creepy, and stuffed! *thinks of Jeepers Creepers* ...*shudders* And yeah, I noticed that the spikes from my creature were conveniently placed just over my head in that last glare picture. That was an interesting bit of circumstance. I didn't plan that. But I think that my favorite picture is the one where I'm arcing my eyebrow. Since that's just the kind of face I make when someone has just said something incredibly stupid. *laughs* It's a face I don't make very often, because the stupidity in question has to actually surprise me for it to take effect, and I think I'm just too used to hearing stupid comments from people to be surprised very often. It was fun, anyway. I'm really loving this hair cut.

Random shoot for a new facebook profile pic with my cat-ear hat on! Soooo cute. I can't believe that I haven't been wearing this hat because I thought I couldn't rock it. And I should criss-cross my over-long bangs like that with beanies more often. It has such a sweet effect. P.S. Sorry if the picture is huge. I can never tell if these pictures just look way to big on my laptop's smallish screen or if they are too big. Here's a link for a separate window, anyway. i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff505/PowellAJ13/NewProfilePic010.jpg

Sorry, I can't help but say it, but you look like Anonyma with that hat on. You really do. Just get a fuzzy raccoon tail, and you could go LARPing as her. In any case, you look great!
I never saw you with this hat on--how long have you had it, and when did you buy it? Or did you make it? You're silly for not wearing it more often.

*Snort* I love how you look so serious and deathglare-y while wearing that hat which just negates the entire effect and makes you look adorable.

To Seven: Pffft, I didn't make that hat. I'm not nearly that talented. And I got the hat well over a year ago, probably close to a year and a half now, but I was always too much of a pansy to where it out in public. But since lately I've been dressing strangely all the time, I think I've finally worked myself up to wearing this hat with confidence. I'd say I'd wear it to the Rise Against concert, but I think I'd just overheat. That hat is warm. As for Anonyma...you know, I was thinking I looked kind of like her, too. I mean, the colors are off (I was thinking Anonyma would wear green instead of red) but my hair actually looks kind of like what I thought her hair would look like under the hat. It makes sense that I look like her, though, because this is the hat, found on eBay, that I based her hat off of in the first place. No way I'm LARP-ing her, though. I would totally suck at that. *is stuck in her writing ways* To Rojo: I wasn't trying to be deathglare-y! I just didn't want to smile, because I have a goofy smile and I wanted to look kind of cute/cool and not like a goofball. Unfortunately, if I'm not smiling I seem to always look either A.)Very sad and lonely or B.)like I want to beat you to within an inch of your life. There just isn't an in-between for me. Which is why I smile a lot. It's the only reasonable option I have while dealing with everyday people. But yeah, I'm content with looking cute in that picture. And I agree, it's totally the ears that add the cute-factor. I mean, how cute is an angry housecat? Very.

Personally, I think it's the sort of angle that makes you look either lonely or angry when you're not smiling. It's because you have your camera above you, but your face level, making your eyes have to come up to meet the camera. It makes the effect. Which is fine, if that's what you're going for. *grins* But I bet I could get a picture of you not smiling that has neither of those emotions shown.

Good luck. It's not just the angle. I have sad/angry eyes. It comes with having a very unhappy subconscious. All of my dreams are tainted with darkness, monsters, and brutal deaths. So, if the eyes are the windows to the soul, that's kind of what you're seeing. The best you can hope for is that I'm wearing my residual smirk instead of a full-blown smile. As long as my lips are up-turned somewhat, I can still look content/happy. If they're not, I always look intense and angry/sad/lonely. I do have happy eyes when I'm really having the time of my life, though. The photos I'm in from my first trip to the Madison protests have that elusive happy-eye effect. I was really having the time of my life, and it helps to have younger cousins around that I get to tease. It ups the happy factor considerably.

I am temporarily stealing your thread so I can say that this is awesome and take advantage of FF's built in attachment system so I don't have to use photobucket. Attachments:
