I decided to get revenge on my Inner Wasewg today (so much for math homework...) for being a general jerk to me. Yes, I have 'Inner [insert character]s' and yes, I do fight with them. Inner Wasewg especially. So I decided to humiliate him in the worst/funniest/best possible way I could think of.

It was just a few easy quick sketches (I wasn't about to do anything too intense for my first technical time animating) on photoshop. However, as you can tell from the rant below on the cbox, I was having some issues with Photobucket. First off, the first version I made was too slow, so I had to speed it up. The second was way too fast--which I also realized was going faster due to Photobucket being especially weird. (I eventually figured out what photobucket is doing, but it's not something I can change). Finally, like Goldy Locks, I managed to get it just right. It's still a little off from the version on my computer, simply because Photobucket is a jerk. I realized that (since it's an infinite loop), just as it begins to cycle again, there is a slight, unwanted pause. And to top it all off, then photobucket tries to compensate for that lost split second by speeding the next one up. It's sort of weird. Hopefully, you won't notice. (Also, the speed fluctuates depending on whether or not you're computer is loading something or not.)

As for the actually drawings...yeah...they're crap, I know. I decided to not give him his hat, as that would have been an added pain to animate. It's just meant to be cute. And for me to poke fun at Wasewg. Which it manages. So I'm happy. *glints a smile*

*ehem* Not that anyone's interested, BUT I MADE FLASH WORK! I AM AWESOME!!! More Caramelldansen goodness...except this time, don't bother loading up the music from elsewhere...*smug smirk*

EDIT: Yes, I know, the Caramelldansen is repetitive, but before you close out after five seconds of watching it, know that there is variation in it (the beginning of all my heartache), and the film actually lasts a full minute before the video goes on loop. So, wait around and watch the whole thing please? I worked hard on it... (see below)


Also, you won't believe how many pains I endured to make this supposedly simple flash. Granted, this was my first time working with flash, so it was hard mostly for that reason. I could go on a whole ramble of how that went down...First I had to figure out how to make an animation from my photoshop .gif (as I soon realized that a .gif file with over 500 frames causes your computer to crash). Then there was sending my photoshop .gif to flash. Then there was figuring out what key frames and all of that nonesense meant. And making it work. Then there was the fact that the 'work space' was ridiculously small, and there was no intuitive way to make it bigger. So I tried making everything smaller. Which flash wanted me to do one at a time. Thankfullly, I figured out how to make the work space bigger instead--thank goodness!

And so many more problems!!! I'm not going to go into anymore detail, as it is depressing. But the point is that now I know stuff about flash! yay!!!

Aww, thanks Pan. How I did that? It was pretty easy, actually (hypothetically, at least.) I just figured out how to work my flash program (which took forever), but once I had that under way, it was easy enough. I am thinking about doing more of these, but it might also get kind of repetitive, as it's drawing the same 3 pictures over and over again. But I might.


Actually, what I'm writing to say now is that I have an extended version, which has an actual ending. I actually had it done since November 5th (as you'll see from the upload date), but I forgot to post it. And then I got sick/busy. -^_^-U
Sorry 'bout that.

In any case, here is the finished product. The dance goes on for like 40 seconds, and then there's 20 seconds of the pair doing something else. It'll end when the words "Fin" come up. Actually, the clip continues to show the ending screen until the song completes (after 4 minutes), and then it loops, so, just to let you know. Enjoy the caramelldansen-ness!
