Severus looks to the Cardinal in rather challenging way, almost daring him to speak. The young man has used his little gift to probe the holy man's recent memories. Needless to say, his past actions have been somewhat less than honorable. "Did your Christ not say, 'He who is without sin, cast the first stone'?" he hisses.

The cardinal ponders this with some wisdom of expereince, but the young monk turns to him in anger, "Father, even the Devil himself and quote scripture perfectly, they mean to decieve us, and again and again step out of line by disregarding the our rules of only speaking when spoken too!" the monk turn to the common people in the audience," Are these villians not guilty for their sins? they seem to give many excuses, but they refuse to recant!" The ausdience gives hardy bawl, many things heard within the crowd such as 'burn them' 'hang them' 'witches, demons,' the list goes on. The monk turns back to the cardinal with a smirk, then back to the accussed, "do you or do you not confess? Do you reacant your crimes?"

Its not a sin. It's a religion.

Severus begins to laugh. The idea of him recanting what he is by birth is absolutely ridiculous. These muggles of the past are even more foolish than those of modern day. And from his perspective, that is saying a lot. He turns to the crowd and smiles as if to say, “I’m not denying anything.” He has no fear of these people as history has provided him with many tricks.
In the far corner of the room, a nobleman sits in the stands watching the scene with extreme curiosity. He looks over all of the accused with a rather puzzled expression. Such strange apparel on them all . . . Surely, they are foreign . . . Poor fools . . . Vampire? . . . Why on Earth is that fellow wearing such a mask? The festival is months away. His eyes suddenly fall upon Severus. Strange boy . . . yet familiar . . . Surely he is not a true . . . where have I seen him?

The cardinal looks down at Pan, "Dmitri, the girl," he indicates to Pan, "has shown her worth and seems to be inconsivably mixed up with the rest of these villians. I do believe her innocence, despite her strange attire, and that she may be realsed.
The young monk, Dmitri, looks at the Cardanal slightly appaulled, "But surely Father, she is one of them--she means to decieve us all with words as sweet as fruits of summer!" The cardanal stares her over, "We shall continue then--and further asess them." The monk turns back to the large group, his eyes chose to accuse Severus this time, "And you sir--what do yoe mean by you deny nothing? Surely you cannot mean you wish to burn both in this life and eternally for the sins of you dark arts? Or have you already sealed your soul away with the print of your blood that you care not anymore?"

Severus looks at the Cardinal, and laughs a little. Primitive fools. Perhaps he should try and explain. It will do no harm either way from his point of view. “What I mean to say sir, is that I am a Sorcerer, a wielder of magic, if you will. I am this by birth.” he says proudly, much to the shock of the crowd, “I have power greater than you could possibly imagine. If that makes me a child of Satan, then I accept it.” He chuckles at the reaction from those behind him.
In the far corner of the room, the nobleman puts a hand to his head. This boy is mad . . . What in Christ’s name does he think he’s doing? . . . Well, he’s already dead, so why am I worrying? The nobleman leans back in his chair and watches as the accused are pelted with rotten fruit and vegetables.

The face of both the young monk and the cardinal redden with rage, "damned soccerer! You that bringst plague to our fair city--you shall be damned as you have chosen!" The monk spits at him then turns to the audience, "THEY ARE ALL SATAN'S CHILDREN!! WE MUST DESTROY THEM BEFORE THEY SUMMON DEMONS TO DESTROY US!" the crowd gives an angry yell, bursting throught he stalls. Never before has there been such a commotion stirred up in a trial before. They go to tie all of the accused up.

Severus begins to laugh. “Now, don’t get you’re nickers into a twist, I said that I was a Sorceror. I failed to say anything about them!” he shouts above the chaos, looking vey composed for a man who is about to be burned alive, “The rest of these fools are nothing but clumsy travelers. Satan himself would be insulted were he associated with any of these people! I advise you release them all, or may your God help you.”
The nobleman nods slowly. I must admit, he has style.

The monk's fat nostrils flair, "then why do you traverse with them? Or are you controlling their minds, forcing them to be your slaves," the monk says, taking shadenfreude in seing that this young man becomes convicted of more crimes than he can handle.

Severus yawns. “Basically.” he replies airily. The crowd gives a unanimous gasp and starts throwing fruit at him. “Do you mind!” he shouts angrily, a fire in his dark eyes. Women scream, men shout, you all know the routine. Severus gives his companions a nod, signaling that they should play along and not to worry about him.
The nobleman in the back looks at the boy warily. His mother must be so proud . . . Wait a minute . . . That’s were I’ve seen him! . . . Good God! . . . He’s one of my kin! . . . I should have known! Suddenly, he stands up from his bench. The men at his side all yell, “Antonio! What are you doing, eh?”
“Cardinal!” Antonio Medici shouts, running down to the front of the room, “Cardinal! Please wait a moment! Stop this! Stop this immediately! Arresti questo!” He halts in front of the accused, holding his knees as he pants. The room has fallen silent. All are staring at Medici, hoping for a damn good explanation.
“This, this boy . . . he’s—ah , he’s my nephew!” stammers through his sharp breaths, “I’m so sorry. Perdonilo. I do not know how he escaped . . . He’s terribly mad, you see.” Medici, knocks on Severus’s head, earning him a filthy look. “He thinks he’s a Sorcerer, sad eh?” he sighs, “Poor bambino. Have pity. Look at him.” He grabs Severus’s head in a very Italian way, and holds it up to the Cardinal as if to say, ‘He’s ugly, feel sorry for him.’
“And as for these people, well, I asked them to keep an eye on him for me while I was away. They are foreign. That is why they seem so strange. Please, release them too!” he requests.
