"Or," she murmurs in response, glancing skyward. "We could take the roof. The jump from the window tothe next roof over should be manageable."

Jeremy seems to consider this. What if it was an ally? Well, it was a risk they'd have to take. "Right. Good idea." He makes the length to the ladder and climbs up it quickly, taking two or three rungs at a time. Kite pulls himself up. "Lead the way, O courageous one."

Rena quickly straps the sack to her back as she takes takes off running. One hard push off the railing, and she boosts herself up to the windowsill. After a few moments of manuevering through the jagged broke glass surrounding the window, she perches on the outer sill, but still holds her hand within. "Need a boost?"

Following closely, Jeremy watches Karina's swifty movements. He grunts at her offer and vaults out and over... He lands next to her, wobbling dangerously and stablizing his arms almost like a windmill. Kite turns.

Rena quickly grabs his arm to stabalize him, but just as suddenly drops it. In one fast motion, she ducks down, using her body weight to push off the window sill. From that point, it's a long jump to the ledge over the next building. Her nails dig into the ledge as she pulls herself up to perch on the roof, gaining her balance before moving aside to give him some room.

A faint, devilish chuckle vibrates along the ledge of the roof, but before Rena can turn to look, a monkey-like Forsaken, who had been carefully clutched onto the side of the wall, quickly leapt up as if propelled by springs, landing on all fours on the roof on the side opposite to Rena. His eyes glow round and orange like the harvest moon might have once, though no living person could testify to that. The moon, after all, has been hidden by the smog above for many, many years.
"You can't hide, and you can't run," he says in a low, impish tone. "I'd tell you to surrender, but that would be no fun. And soon, the others shall join me as well, for they always do."

Rena's eyes widen, but her mouth forms into a snarl. With one hand, she reaches carefully into the pack and pulls on of the thick iron bars from it, holding it as though preparing to fight. She glances once at Kite, shaking her head once, before she takes a step back and disappears over the ledge.

Kite is about to jump as well when the Forsaken appears. His eyes narrow and he seems to think for a moment. Fight or flight? Then Rena stepped off the roof. Guess that settles it. He drops off the ledge and hits the ground running, wanting to get up a good speed and maybe climb the fence quickly. "Try as you might, creature, your quarry shall escape you this night..." he murmers under his breath as he moves closer and closer to the fence.

Reece laughs, shouting over to Kite. "Did you seriously just speak in rhyme? Ha! That is so laaaa-aaame!" He taunts him in his sing-song tone, ending with his impish laughter. Reece looks entirely insane with both the wide, unblinking orange eyes emitting their fiendish light, his wild grin that spread from ear to ear, and his curling black claws. Ignoring Rena, who he assumes to be the weaker and the slower of the two, he takes off after Jeremy, running on all fours with all the fervor and speed as the howling wind. He springs from one roof, and then another, and within moments he lands with perfect precision onto the thin ledge of the fence, perched like a vulture. He unfurls himself upward till he stands, though with his slight hunch, flexing his long claws as if they were hungry. Hungry for Kite. He then sings with his playful tone:
"Run or hide, fight or flight, either way, you die tonight."
He chuckles a bit more, looking down at the rebel.
"Either that, or you get to become my newest friend!" he exclaims with strange but happy enthusiasm. "Yaay!" he tries to clap his hands, though they make little noise when used in that human fashion.

Rena, who may very well be the weaker of the two, is by no means the slower, turns quickly down the fence, still clutching the bar protectively. She pauses only to turn her head at the pair, rolling her eyes momentarily.
"As impressive as is your penchant for rhyme, I must admit, this is not the time!"

Kite grins as he approaches. "Wrong move, my wily friend, now your life I shall have to end!" He bends his knees slightly before springing high up towards the Forsaken, kicking his legs out together in a flying drop-kick, aiming right for that manic grinning face.

"Rhyme?" he questions Rena curiously as if he didn't understand what she meant, holding one long claw by his chin in fashion similar to The Thinker. Similarly, a curious little smile that has both qualities of innocence and smirk spreads as moves his hand to strokes his whiskers.
"It seems my penchant is not for rhyme, but getting others to speak in time."
However, he quickly snaps out of it when Kite tries to jump kick him. Fortunately, the little Forsaken is already at greater height from standing on the top of the tall fence, so all he does is leap upwards to dodge the flying-kick meant for him.
"Your leaps are feeble, dearest friend, But! That problem you could amend, If you joined Forsaken's side-- To run and play by night's tide."
He crosses his arms petulantly, perched again atop the fence. "Look what you've done now! You've got me speaking in propaganda!" He looked 'highly' offended.

"Would you two shut up!" Rena exclaims, swinging the bar at the Forsaken's feet.

Jeremy hits the ground, looking back to Rena. "Hurry up!" He hisses, then bounds across the street and into an alley.

Reece leaps up again, this time landing on the fence balanced with one hand in a small feat of acrobatics. But then he notices that Kite is getting away, and he swoops down off the fence.
"Cowards! Running away from Reece!"
But as Kite runs into the alleyway, there is a new obstacle in his way. The dark haired Guardian, Thrasymachus, accompanied by Asila, are blocking their escape. Using the element of surprise, Thrasymachus wordlessly casts an ice spell to freeze the male rebel's feet to the ground.
"Ah!" Reece chirps merrily seeing the pair arrive. "Which leaves Reece with the pretty girl!" he says concentrating on Karina now that he sees Jeremy being taken care of by the others.
