Name: Evangeline Baelreth
Age: 119
Appearance: 18
Race: Guardian
Description or Picture: Evangeline is five feet, four inches tall and of diminuative build. She looks particularly delicate, even for a Guardian. Her hair is of a gentler, paler shade of gold; still too warm to qualify as ash blond, but not as bright as some of the richer shades. Still, it gleams and sparks in the light as beautifully as that of any other Guardian. She wears it long, trailing past her waist, the locks curling in graceful ringlets. Her eyes sparkle as brilliantly as green opal ( i39.tinypic.com/2pyu9uq.jpg ), and seem to blaze with such intensity that it's hard to believe that such inner fire could exist within such a small, demure form. She is fond of pretty clothing and high quality jewelry, and has a vast wardrobe and an equally vast collection of circlets, necklaces, bracelets, and rings. Everything is of shades that flatter one of her many striking physical traits, and of fashionable design. When she walks she seems to float inches off the ground, her every gesture is graceful and elegant, and her countenance seldom wears an expression that is anything other than kind, sweet-natured, patient, or even admiring.
Personality: Beneath the benevolent, innocent mask she wears, Evangeline is excessively proud, even haughty. She is absolutely indifferent to the Forsaken. They are nothing more than servants, after all. She will not demean herself by allowing their vices to bring out answering ones in her. Basically, she tends to treat the Forsaken she's had throughout the years in a motherly fashion, convincing them that the curse she had placed on them was really the best option, under the circumstances. If she hadn't cursed them they would have been either destroyed on the Stage of Retribution or have found themselves under the care of a much crueler master. She has mastered the ability of using kindness as a weapon, and uses that knowledge in all arenas in her life. Even when dealing with her own kin.
History: Evangeline is one of the higher-ranking Guardians, and she achieved her status by flying in under the radar. She knows exactly what every Guardian want to hear, and is perfectly happy to flatter them accordingly since doing so tends to result in the favor of the Guardians who have been benefited by her pretty words. Also, while they gorge their egos on her flattery they fail to realize that she may have her own motives behind the words and is hardly going out of her way to be complimentary out of the goodness of her heart. So, to put it simply, she is easily one of the most influential Guardians even if she isn’t one of the most powerful.
She is favored by and favors Somriad, but to say they were in love would be a gross exaggeration. They are an item as far as the human public is concerned, but the Guardians are a very reserved race that often views strong bonds between themselves and another as a liability or a sign of weakness. So, while Evangeline sees Somriad as a significant pawn in her play for power and even holds some affection for him, she does not love him by any stretch of the word’s definition.
She did make the decision to have a child, and used Somriad to achieve these ends, but that was nearly thirty years ago and the child has grown into an adult that isn’t as respectable as some. She, like the child’s father, chooses to maintain a definitive distance between herself and the one she gave birth to.
At the moment, she is favored by the majority of the Guardians, and, however fickle that favor may somehow prove to be, it is the heart of her power and influence.
Political Standing: Allied with the Guardians.
Abilities: Her ability to influence others in such a way that they do not quite realize they have been manipulated. She also possesses the magical prowess that benefits all members of her race, though, as far as magical power goes, she is the weakest of all the higher-ranking Guardians.
Weaknesses: Known only to a select few.
