Name: Mireta Dubal (born Miranda Nabul)
Age: Twenty-one
Race: Forsaken (Serpent)
Description: Mireta, when she still considered herself roughly 'human,' was considered the beauty of her family. Tiny, finely boned, and pale, she radiated a fragile "protect me!' aura that naturally drew people in. She stands just short of five feet tall, with shortly chopped black hair. This is where the similarities between her old selfr and her present form end. Her casually muscled limbs have slowly been leeched of their suppleness, though not their strength, as her everyday form began to mimic her bestial one. Her choclate brown eyes darkened to a threatening pitch black, and her porcelain skin became a sallow white. Her skin is dry and smooth, reminiscent of her serpentine form. Her fangs are retractable, but she tends to keep them out, claiming it's too much work to flip them back. Her eyes are set in deep, bruiselike circles on her paper-white skin. Desipte the impression of looking exhausted and beaten, she rarely blinks, mostly due to the fact that her eyelids are thin and almost nonexistant to the point that even when she blinks, it's barely noticeable. As if she was distinguished enough from the populus, she has a thick scar across her neck from a botched suicide attempt from years before.
It is not so much her appearance that is unnerving after seven years as one fo the Forsaken, but how she moves and holds herself. Her legs barely part as she moves, and coupled with her unusual clothing choices, she seems to literally slither as she walks. Her hands usually float outward slightly, being slightly vestigial after seven years, as though she doesn't know what to do with them. She tends to lean to one side, then the other as she walks, further creating the gliding motion. Even when she is not moving, her absurdly still balance is disconcerting to anyone who isn't used to it.
When in her second form, that of a rather large snake, Mireta is thickly banded with black and white. She prefers with form whenever possible, but since it is not always an option to assume it, she mimics it as much as possible. Her usual outfit is nothing more than a full body suit, created to resemble her snake form. She wears thin black boots and gloves to help gather a little extra warmth. Her hair hangs in lank spikes around her face, framing it violently. Her master is the only one who can persuade her to don her long black trenchcoat over this, making her appearance a little more acceptable.
Personality: Mireta's personality is, in a word, hostile. Frankly, though she is capable of great damage and is a useful and dangerous tool i nthe hands of the Guardians, the world is much better off with her under their power. She is aggressive towards anything that moves, most notably towards other Forsaken and most openly toward the Rebellion. Her only loyalty lies with her master and only due to the fact that she is forced. If she wasn't, she'd probably do little more than wreak havoc until someone managed to kill her.
Mireta basically has two modes of expression: darkly monotonous and creepily smug. Her face shows very little emotion, since it has lengthened and tightened in the last seven years. More or less, she can move each side of her lips about a centimeter either up or down. The effect, when compared to her usual flat stare, is eerie and sadistic looking.
Mireta is never given an assignment when keeping the target alive is essential, for seveal reasons. Her temper, though not apparent, is explosive, and when aggravated, she attackes ruthlessly. Also, one of her best offensive weapons, her lethal venom, is just that: lethal.
History: Mireta was the second shild in a large half-wolf family. She was taught by her older sister and her aunt to assume her lupine form. When she was fourteen, she went against her neutral parents' wishes and joined the Rebellion. An attack ensued after one of her first meetings with the Rebels. Miranda, as she was then called, watched her parents and three of her younger siblings be slaughtered by the Forsaken sent to eliminate the family.
She knew her options at this point were death on the scene, capture followed by death, or capture followed by being cursed into servitude as a Forsaken. She was surrounded, the last standing member of the family, and chose death. She, sadly, wasn't skilled enough to manifest a true partial transformation into her wolf form. The claw she conjured on her hand was not sharp enough to puncture either her windpipe or her jugular as she drew it across her throat.
Under strict orders, the Forsaken returned her to their master, and she was patched up enough to undergo the curse. She survived, of course, and became a most useful tool.
The first physical change she underwent was the gradual splitting and sensitization of her tongue. This resulted in two serious changes. The first was the change in her voice. It deepened significantly, and created a very distinctive vocal pattern. Her 's's enlongated, giving her a very pronounced hiss as she speaks. The second change was, as she began to taste the air, her sense of smell became obsolete. Eventually, her nasal passages shrank to practically nothing, making her voice even more distinct. She sounds vaguely as though she has a mild cold, and her pronunciation of the letter 'n' has become almost nonexistant, hence the eventual change of her name.
Political Standing: Grudgingly allied with the Guardians.
Abilities: Her best abilities are speed and constriction(when in her serpentine form) and her venom. It is a powerful neurotoxin and is usually lethal within twenty seconds. Tjough her venom can be used in either form, her constrictive powers cannot. Overall, she is much more threatening in her snake form.
Weaknesses: Her main weakness is her humanoid form. She is slower, more unsightly, and only a true threat if she can get close enough to bite. The issue is magnified because she is coldblooded, and if she gets too cold, she can become very sluggish.
