Because I obviously don't do much around here, I thought I would fill everyone in on the little project that I am doing during my free time. I am designing an RPG realm on a massive scale, a few here know of its existence, and I've bemoaned about it here on occasion as well. I have here a few sample pictures of it from my portfolio. (This game is rendered in Neverwinter Nights' Aurora Neverwinter Toolset, and is a mock-up for the actual game.) Windchester Capital: City of Order, center of the Human Race. Mind's Prison: One of many dungeons in the game. Chaark: City of Fire, a close-up of the Fire Giant Barracks, and a small shot of the River of Flame that runs through Chaark. (Say Hi to the Fire Giant in the background too.) Topaz Forest: One of the Gemmed Forests that make up the northern border of the Windchester Kingdom. (There's no skyline as it's viewed in the Toolset mode, I'd have to change that to get it to work correctly.) A small look at the layout, at least with what resources Aurora gives me. The documentation hasn't been fully integrated into the game engine since it's only so powerful enough to handle the 200+ pages of documentation I have. (Why yes, that was sarcasm.) Thank you. - TLN

Looks interesting. I happen to own a copy of Neverwinter Nights...are you planning to host this as a server...? I'd be interested in playing on it. Also, what category is it? I'd assume Role-playing, but just checking...

I'm mostly using Aurora to render the game, not actually use it as the game itself, but I may open it for play when I start scripting up quests and the like. - TLN

Update 1/4/09
Concepts that have been completed:
- Class Concepts, Advanced and Honor Classes
- Multitude of Campaigns, including the following: - The Return of the Arcanist: The ancient magic-restraining being returns from a long incarceration, seeking to bind all magic to only those whom he deems trustworthy. He does not realize this in turn harms the world, and the realm binds together against him. - Power Undying: Many years after the fall of the Arcanist, fissures of magic begin to split all around Anestoril, yet the realm's Mages know not the cause. Meanwhile, a power begins to rise, and familiar foes begin to rise back from the shadows once again, an ultimate rise of true power! - The First Gulgothan War: The Gulgothans form, and seek to purge all life from the realm of Anestoril to finally achieve the Age of Lifelessness. Of course, the realm isn't going to allow that to happen! - The Second Gulgothan War: The Gulgothans are back, and this time much stronger than ever! Striking each kingdom pre-emptively, it seems nothing can stop the unending legions of dead and dying this time from killing everyone in Anestoril! - The Elemental Wars: An ongoing war since time began, the elements constantly battle one another for a form of supremacy. Fire hates Water, Earth hates Air, will this ongoing war ever end? That my friends, is up to you. - The Cataclysm: Reliving the ancient catastrophe that split the world into elemental and faithful factions, the Cataclysm brought about the many wars and terrors that occur in the future of Anestoril. Witness it through the power of the ancient that still knows it all, and wishes for others to learn from their mistakes. - The Rise of the Silent King: The Thieves Guild has long been a place of muscling and conning ones way to the top, but the previous guildmaster declared another to be the guildmaster before he died. Others wish leadership, but should it be that the one who was deemed guildmaster to be the next "King of Thieves"? - The AXIS Invasion: In the time of first creation, a race left Anestoril to seek a new life away from a planet beset with warring factions; they have now returned, wishing to liberate the land from the newly created realm, believing that it has not learned from its past mistakes.
Many of the campaigns above have already been completed in LARPs, but a few of them have not. I have decided to list my work here to at least keep everyone informed of my progress.
Projects in Progress:
- Magic System: 8 Elemental & Faith Disciplines, 3-4 Alternate Disciplines. (60% complete) - Dungeons: All dungeons that have been created in the Anestoril map. (20% complete) - Map: Entire Anestoril Map (99% complete.)

Note: The Anestoril module's map (Not the quests or the scripting) is nearing completion, and I may soon be in need of testers to check out the server and see how it runs. Mind you I haven't scripted many quests yet, but I have populated many vital portions of the map, enough for some players to start off characters. I will soon be putting this up for people to try out.
My module comes with a few pieces of custom material, which I will soon put up on MegaUpload for people to download so they can have access to all the features of Anestoril. If you are interested, please send me a PM and I will put you on the list when I open the module.
The module WILL be password protected, so only those applying for testing the module will be permitted to play.
Any questions, feel free to PM me or post here, and I will answer them as soon as possible. That is all.
- TLN
*EDIT:
PS: I will be putting up a few screenshots of the newer portions of the module in a few days when I get the chance.
/EDIT*

Note: The pictures for the new areas will be withheld until further notice, as I have run into a couple of problems with getting them built correctly, however I will be trying to get some screenshots of some of the various characters in the module, so you can see some of what I'm working with.

As I promised, time for a few profiles, I shall start with a rather renowned bounty target from a while back... Name: Agatha Senig Race: Human Class: Sniper (Type of Ranger) Alignment: Chaotic Evil Homeland: Akkord Current Location: None, Deceased Description: Once known as the Lady of Pain, a title akin to that of the Goddess of Pain, Kragma, the Late Agatha Senig was a terrible threat to the roads within the Topaz Forest, a major trade route between Windchester and the town of Mandash. What initially motivated her to become such a heartless, disgusting killer is still unknown, as her origins ended up remaining a mystery with her to her grave. Her exploits included assaults on trade routes and adventurers traversing the roads through the Topaz Forest, setting traps, then aiming a killing shot straight to an eye socket while they panicked from the trap. Agatha was eventually captured by none other than Governor Cornelius Cailus, the current ruling body of Cheshun, the Holy City of Shaedar, God of Order. Agatha was executed by hanging, strangely enough she died with a smirk on her face. Name: The Bonekeeper Race: Human...? Class: Unknown (Presumably Fighter or Cleric) Alignment: Chaotic Evil Homeland: The Bone Cave, Windchester Region Current Location: The Bone Cave, Windchester Region Description: It is said that many years ago when the Bone Cave was still being used for study purposes by rogue mages, they would incarcerate intruders in a prison area on the second floor of the cavern. It is believed that this eventually led to the development of the Bonekeeper, a twisted individual that somehow managed to survive countless years of incarceration through cannibalism and the crafting of his victims' bones to make various tools and equipment. To this day it is said the crazy rhyming voice of the deranged Bonekeeper still rings out from that area, singing and chanting about his most recent catch and what he plans to make with it. Most explorers tend to veer away from his direction, as many do not wish to become the Bonekeeper's next tool set, or meal for that matter.

Since it's been asked about, here's a small profile on the Arcanist: Name: Amaxius Damagarin (The Arcanist) Race: Originally Human, now Unknown Class: Unknown (Originally an Arcanist, believed to be a very high-powered Spell-Weaver or Battlemage) Homeland: Hauksness Age: 581 Years Hgt: 6'2 Wgt: 160 lbs. Eyes: Red/Brown Hair: Black Skin Tone: Tan (Usually unseen due to hood and immaterial form) Father: Irgo Damagarin, Mage of the Lesser Magic Council (Arcane) Mother: Vanessa Damagarin, Mage of the Lesser Magic Council (Earth) Appearance: Is draped in tattered brown and dark brown traveller's robes with a thick brown hood over his head, concealing his eyes. His hair pours out from beneath the bottom of the hood. When he walks, it's believed that a small silhouette of where we was not but a second ago remains for a split second before fading in with the rest of his body. When in combat his body billows with multiple darkened colors, eyes burning with red coloration. His path behind him begins to leave a trail of glittering reddened and purplish dust behind him, fading as it touches the ground. (Picture Note: The trail is not implemented yet, so I made a surreal effect around him to give an effect of his control over arcane power.) Biography: A truly gifted Arcanist in his early years, Amaxius quickly rose in the Magic Council to the ranks of his mother and father, and eventually was asked to join the Grand Magic Council after dedicating himself to the understanding of all magical elements and energies. Amaxius foresaw the oncoming disagreement between the Magic Council, and the breakdown of the Archmage, Balthazar. Amaxius took himself to research a solution, and found that if magic were to be suppressed, that the fighting between the magical powers could cease. Of course by this time, magic was too widely accepted to be simply cast aside. The Elemental War broke out, and the collapse of the Magic Council came to pass, bringing on the Cataclysm. Amaxius became obsessed with wanting to bring down magical power after it cost him his family, and his potential future, he decided to make his future to be to eliminate magic entirely, even by using his own to do so. Initially the Arcanist had 8 great towers built all around Anestoril to suppress magical power, but failed when the towers were seized by the people of Anestoril. After this, the Arcanist secluded himself in his retreat from the Magic Council, a cathedral, now long abandoned on Mount Skyrind in the Atmosian Region. There he stay for almost 500 years, perfecting his magical power before setting forth finally to begin to destroy all whom use magic. In the end the Arcanist was defeated by the combined efforts of the lords of Anestoril, and at the moment stays within the confines of the afterlife. It is rumored that the afterlife can not hold the Arcanist due to his great hold upon the Earth itself, but so far no research has proven this to be true. - TLN

As promised, a few more character profiles for Anestoril: Name: Joftaz Umadayo Race: Human Class: Buccaneer Homeland: Red Isle Current Location: Probably somewhere at sea. Age: 41 Years Hgt: 6'3 Wgt: 150 lbs. Eyes: Brown Hair: Brown Skin Tone: Tan Description: The free-spirited, bloodthirsty admiral of the United Pirates of Anestoril. Admiral Joftaz is the third named High Admiral of the United Pirates since their establishment, with two lesser Admirals under his command. Born and raised on the Red Isle by the United Pirates for most of his childhood, he has experienced life on land as well as the sea, but knows well that the sea is his one and only home. He has a very jovial demeanor when dealing with others, not taking much seriously already being drunk with power over the majority of the seas and any sea-faring economy (not to mention he himself gets quite drunk literally). When it comes to a serious matter, he gets down to business very quickly, and always finds a way to give himself the advantage rather than letting others take it. Name: Slamen Horek Race: Human Class: Professional Mercenary Homeland: Windchester Current Location: Regulos Age: 46 Years Hgt: 6'2 Wgt: 160 lbs. Eyes: Brown Hair: Brown Skin Tone: Caucasian Description: Known better in many cities as "The Bronze Knight" or "The Cursed Warrior", Slamen Horek's legacy has been a long and challenging one. In his early days, Slamen was a typical adventurer seeking to make his name known during the first Gulgothan War, heading out into the world to find a method to stop the war along with other heroes of Anestoril. During his journeys he was captured by the Gulgothans and was given a curse which distorted his appearance, transitioning him between being a typical human, to an undead warrior, to even an orc. Eventually the Gulgothan War ended, and Slamen managed to find a way to have the curse restricted, it is not known if he has fully recovered from this curse. Slamen also took on the position of Templar in the Windchester Legion, training Windchester's soldiers into capable fighting machines and giving Windchester the skill it needed in combat in the days ahead. Today, Slamen has abandoned his post as Templar to seek the simple life of a travelling adventurer, becoming a Professional Mercenary and seeking to make both his fortune and to fight for the common man, rather than for a lawful cause. Name: Zanthora the Mad Race: Human? Undead? Class: Necromancer Homeland: Cheshun Location: Unknown Age: 34 years Hgt: 5'9 Wgt: 120 lbs. Eyes: Black Hair: White Skin Tone: No Pigmentation (Assumed Caucasian) Description: This svelte woman was once one of the most well-known necromancers of the Gulgothan Cult, a professional in animating the dead and in giving once-living creatures a form of sentient thought rather than simple animation. A true mad scientist of the art of Necromancy, Zanthora's exploits in Necromancy were thought to be the stuff of horror stories, but after what had been recorded in history, evidence of her findings are been found to be possible. It came as a great surprise to the world when it was found that Zanthora had actually fled the Gulgothan Cult, taking many of her findings with her. It is said that Zanthora continues to practice Necromancy, though now unsanctioned by any magical guild. This makes her dangerous, but also gives her potential to continue her studies unfettered. Where she has fled to no one at the moment knows, but wherever she has it will likely be dangerous to venture to, many of her experiments likely to enjoy seeing adventurers wander into their lairs...

A few new screenshots, some I'm sure people have been waiting for: Name: Keeper Nemesis (True name unknown in archives) Race: Devil (Arch-Devil) Class: Unknown (Presumably Sorcerer) Homeland: Underkingdom Location: Praetoseba (Deceased) Age: 1000+ Years Hgt: 6'2 Wgt: 140 lbs Eyes: Red (Burning Red) Hair: Red Skin Tone: Lighter Red than Hair Description: The Demigod of Retribution and all-power devil of Anestoril, Nemesis earned himself the title of "The Grim Reaper" amongst the people of Anestoril, or "That Damn Devil" to those who he would harass. As far as devils go, Nemesis is very eccentric, not as evil or heartless as most devils due to his outlook on the realm he exists in. Nemesis should have perished many years prior as far as a devil's lifespan goes, but he managed to prolong his lifespan (much like a lich) by making a pact with his infernal kin to tie his existance to a point in the Underkingdom, wherein he had created a dungeon filled with perilous traps and creatures to protect himself. Nemesis was considered a threat to Anestoril in the early years due to his growing power, and eventually he did lash out on the city of Windchester, the kingdom of course nearest him. It was during this bout that he came across his closest friend, and later wife, Aisha. After a blood-bond ceremony which tied their two lives together in a way they could feel and share each others' pain, the two officially were wed and it was during this period that Nemesis began to rethink his way in the world. With Aisha, Nemesis and his wife bore a son to continue their bloodline. The son, Virgil, decided in the years ahead he would follow in his father's footsteps and become a keeper himself, but he would keep his mother's witty side, which of course got under his father's skin. Unfortunately, this change of pace was cut short after the second rise of the Arcanist, Amaxius Damagarin. After Nemesis attempted in a last-ditch effort to stop the Arcanist from further threatening Anestoril, and his own family, the Arcanist managed to slay Keeper Nemesis by severing the foundations of his existance, forever banishing Keeper Nemesis to Praetoseba for all eternity. Name: Burin le Savage Race: Human Class: Crusader of Shaedar (Now Avatar of Shaedar) Homeland: Windchester Current Location: Tomb of Justice (Paladin Burial Vaults) Age: 54 years (At time of death) Hgt: 6'0 Wgt: 180 lbs.. Eyes: Blue Hair: White (Aged) Skin Tone: Caucasian Description: In life, Burin was the most honorable and just of the Paladins of Shaedar; nowadays whereas most Shaedarian Paladins are declared overzealous and hasty, Burin was one of the few that gave everyone an equal chance before making any decisions. Never once being declared a leader amongst his order, he was however made the King of Windchester for a brief period of time during the first Gulgothan War, after the previous king was assassinated by the Gulgothan Agency. Burin was very careful and tactical when it came to the war, and eventually led to Windchester's victory over the Gulgothans, though he never was able to finish the job by keeping the Gulgothan's prophet, Lord Omash-Mi, banished forever. Eventually, an heir to the throne of Windchester was found that re-assumed the throne of Windchester, which Burin honorably vacated to the heir of the royal bloodline. Even so, Burin still wished to stop the Gulgothans from rising again. Unfortunately, Burin's wishes for this never came to pass, as age had finally caught up with him. Eventually Burin passed away at his estate in the Windchester Forest, and was buried with great honor in the Tomb of Justice in Windchester. Some say though, that should the Kingdom of Windchester be plagued by a great evil, or the return of the Gulgothan prophet onto Windchester soil, Burin's spirit will rise again to combat the villain that threatened the peaceful people of Windchester. Name: Riptide Miki Race: Human Class: Lady of War Homeland: Osh'n Current Location: Palace of Osh'n Age: 36 years Hgt: 5'8 Wgt: 125 lbs. Eyes: Brown Hair: Brown Skin Tone: Slight Tan (Still Caucasian) Description: The current Empress of the Osh'nian Realm, Lady Riptide Miki was the second in command to Lady Ice Falcon, the previous Empress of Osh'n. Upon the previous lady's sudden assassination by unknown sources, Riptide Miki assumed the throne and quickly took to the power. Riptide is credited for doubling the effective military numbers in Osh'n by establishing efficient training techniques and designating more emphasis on general self-defense training. Furthermore Riptide ordered a specialized navy known as "The Sharks of Relindis" which patrol the realm's sea-trading routes to prevent piracy. Lady Riptide herself is very brash and proud, which makes her a little difficult to speak with; thankfully due to her dedication to the Goddess of Water and Serenity, she always takes a moment after every conversation to reflect upon what was said, and what should be the right thing to do. Environment descriptions are coming up soon, sometime this week. (Need to take some screenshots)

Oh a side note, yes in that picture of "me", I don't have my traditional "hat" on. The Aurora toolset didn't have a good one for me. If I can find a good graphic file for it, I'll re-edit it.
