A short, spur-of-the-moment thing I was thinking of. Originally the person from who's POV we see it was supposed to be a Demon, but I thought that a bit difficult- what with horns and hooves and wings and tails, so we can assume this character is human.
Cold
It’s so very cold…I want it to stop. They’re freezing me alive, encasing me in a block of frozen liquid. My feet…I cannot feel them. They are useless and turning black. The cold is moving upwards now, so cold…
My legs have gone numb, and a searing pain tears at my lungs every time I draw breath, like the air is made of lava. But cold lava, as if the air is so cold it has become hot…I can see the faces of my captors. They’re filled with a grim sort of satisfaction, as if they know what I am feeling.
Now my lower arms have frozen too. Most of my chest and internal organs have gone cold and stiff. My lungs are seizing up- I can’t breathe very well, and when I do, it is in sharp, painful intakes.
The ice is up to my neck now. Only my head is visible over the top of this block of ice. Every breath has now become so painful it feels as if I am tearing my throat and lungs to shreds. It hurts. It’s cold. I’m going to die.
