((I may get around to drawing a picture, but these are pretty close))
Personality:
Saika's attitude varies in accordance to those that she meets. The only set qualities are pride and obstinance, which go hand in hand, really, as well as a certain intensity that can be clearly noted in her gaze and demeanor. When speaking with someone who she views as a kindred spirit or deems worthy of respect, she is friendly and compassionate, loyal and even protective. Adversely, when she meets with someone she dislikes she is frostily cold, sarcastic, and even hostile. First impressions are everything with her, she prides herself on her ability to judge a character after only a few words have been spoken. However, I am being a bit harsh. It is more likely that she will treat a new aquaintence with kindness and respect than it is she will treat them cruelly. She makes a loyal friend and a tenacious enemy.
History: Saika grew up within the last great dragon clan. The reason for the downfall of their numbers is the spread of human civilization. Dragons, being very large creatures, need quite a bit of space if they are to survive unnoticed. There is a group of four Elders who govern the Clan. It is they who decide who can stay among their numbers and who must leave to survive on their own. It is neccessary, really. The Clan cannot grow too large or it will be noticed. So only the strongest can stay while those who don't meet the Elders lofty standards must go and prove themselves worthy if they ever hope to return. Mastery of all the elements and simple honor are the key requirments. Saika fell short of both. Her failure to master the elements would have been overlooked, for at fifty-nine years of age she is very young for a dragon. No dragon has ever mastered the elements without two centuries of experience, for the young are seldom strong. Dragons gain their great strength through the millenia. They are not born with it. Unfortunately, she fell from grace. She befriended a young rogue by the name of Malevolos. While he seemed to be a dragon of some sort, his element was darkness and because the clan was predominantly light-oriented they did not approve of his presence. Saika, being just the kind of being that is drawn to outcasts, promptly befriended him. The members of the Clan were not overly enthusiastic about this, but they tolerated the friendship. Saika, however headstrong and defiant she may have been, was actually well-liked within the clan. Unfortunately, five years later(an eyeblink for a dragon) a young hunter happened upon a ten year old dragonet and killed her. Though he was quickly killed in return, Malevolos proposed that they wipe out the town that had spawned him. Saika, outraged, agreed with the plan. Knowing that the Elders would not improve, they acted upon their plan in secrecy. They succeeded, killing everyone in the small town, but the pair were promptly banished. Saika begged pardon, realizing her mistake too late, and was sent on a mission to keep track the human-hating Malevolos and destroy him should he prove himself too dangerous. It's not as kind a punishment as it sounds, however. She can not return until she completes this mission, something she will never accomplish until her quarry is dead. She blames Malevolos for her ill fortune and would gladly tear him apart if they meet again. 'Hell hath no fury like a women scorned,' and though she was always too proud and independent to admit it to herself, she had loved Malevolos. Once.
Abilities: She has an excellent grasp of the wind element, as a wingless dragon spirit she needs it. She is also good with light, though she doesn't depend on this element as much as she does on the wind and so her control is not yet perfected. Either way, she is stronger during the day than she is at night. Her dragon form is that of a large Chinese dragon, of a white/silver color, and she posseses a great amount of strength while in this form, though she is clumsy while on the ground. In her human form she is more agile, at least while on the ground. As a dragon she rules the sky.
Key weaknesses: Her elemental weakness in both forms is lightning. Her element is also almost useless against something as solid as earth and using wind against fire can go one of two ways. One, she could extinguish it if she is more powerful than her opponent. Two, she could fuel the flames if she's weaker or evenly matched. Other than that, she's physically weak as a human and unable to move quickly on the ground as a dragon. She hates the night, for the lack of sunlight makes her considerably weaker.
