Full (real) name: Squall Romulus Alani Smardenheart
More normally known as: Captain Squall Blackheart
Age: 25
History: Born into a well-respected merchant family, Squall was brought up in good fashion, he was taught how to speak four different languages before the age of ten, and knew how to reply to sayings and was basically a good boy. When aged fourteen, his father began taking him along on his merchant voyages, teaching him the tricks of the trade. Squall did enjoy these sails, but he wished for more. He loved to research pirates, and self-taught himself how to use a sword from the books his father was unable to sell. The Smardenhearts were highly respected, and one trek they had been signaled to take a large amount of tobacco and rum to a meeting place on a remote island, where the cargo would swap ships and finish the rest of the journey. On the meeting place, however, both crews were attacked by pirates, Sqaull's father's entire crew being slaughtered, save for Squall himself, who hid away in a box. When aboard the pirate vessel, Squall left the box, using his swordplay to get to the top of the ship, where he challeneged the captain to a duel, and even though pirates have some honour, Squall won by fighting dirty and killed the captain even though he surrendered. This was how he obtained his famous name "Blackheart" and also how he found his tricorne hat. He took the ship back to Gailpost, his home port, and renounced his merchant craft for the life of piracy. Squall atempted to raise a crew, since the one he had temporarily had left him, but had no luck. So, to prove himself, he sailed to the exact middle of the green sea and sat there for three days in naught but a sailing boat. This is one of the many feats that make him renowned throughout the seas. When he returned, he was respected by many men. He took a cupful of green sea water and a cracked Krad bird egg as proof.
Now he sails the seas, a renowned pirate with one of the most motley crews ever to sail the sea.
Physical Description: A tall man with a swarthy, experienced face. Jet black hair sits beneath a tricorne hat with a ponytail poking out the back. Vivid green eyes stare out from his face, and prickly stubble covers his chin. He has a strong, well-toned body, with a white puffy shirt and leather jacket over his chest. He also has black trousers ending with large, sturdy worn black boots. Upon his belt are an assortment of objects (See below). All his clothes are baggy and his face gives the aura of one who is not 100% sober at all times.
Equipment: A well-handled, not well cared for yet sharp steel longsword, a tobacco box and pipe, a compass, telescope all sit upon his belt. His ship, christened The Crusader is a boat very similar to a carrack, with the exception of the pirate sails, which are black. The figurehead on the ship is that of a skeleton holding two cutlasses crossed across its chest. He also has three golden teeth embued with a weak magical charm which make him slightly more charasmatic then he should be when he grins.
Strengths: Swordplay, fighting dirty and hand-to-hand combat.
Weaknesses: Ranged attacks and magic attacks.
