I'm not entirely sure I'm allowed to answer, but I'll have to say the scene in which V dies is the saddest (and most beautiful) scene that I have ever encountered. I cried over that one, but, over-romantic sap that I am, I will cry over any good tragedy. *grins*

*Nods* That movie was really awesome, and sad...
But, as always, I'm going with the nerdy awnser and saying:
When Luke Skywalker takes off Darth Vader's mask and he dies. That was really sad...

The part in Click right before the character who played Adam Sandler's dad dies, where he's in his son's office and starts crying after Sandler says those hateful things to him, and the man kisses him on the cheek and walks away, tears streaming dowm. *sniffle*
Luke and Vader was pretty sad too

Oh! I thought of one!
There's this great Italian movie I once saw called "Life is Beautiful" (Or was it "Life is Wonderful"? I don't remember...) In any case, it was about the Nazis and WWII in Italy, and the leading character is Jewish. Half way through the movie, he his son, and his wife are sent to a concentration camp.
Once in the camp, he manages to keep his son and himself alive be continuously telling his small son that there just at a summer camp, and that everything they're doing is just a game, and if they win, they'll get an army tank. It's sort of cute, since throughout the movie, he's doing all sorts of silly nonsense to keep his son thinking that they're playing.
Towards the end, everyone realizes that they're about to be liberated by the Americans. So in retaliation, all of the Nazis make an effort to kill as many Jews as possible my carting the women off. The Jewish man tells his son to stay hidden until morning (as it's "part of the game") while he goes to look for his wife (who was at the female side of the camp). But before he can find her, he's caught by the soldiers. They start to walk him off toward some area where they're going to shoot him, and they pass the little crate where the son is hiding. When the father realizes they're passing his son's crate, he starts to smile widely, laugh, and walk clownishly. The boy smiles back oblivious that his father is about to die, but remains hidden. The Nazis can only wonder what he's doing, never figuring out he had hidden his son. In the end, they keep walking and the sounds of a gun execution are heard moments later.
