And so we begin with my picture of the original Asila. (I forgot to sign my names on these. *frowns* Darn it, but I'm too lazy to scan them all again...) I'm really happy with how it turned out, but I hate how geometric it is. Though that was kind of the point. The background was supposed to be harsh and unforgiving, just as her expression is sorrowful and vaguely tormented. She is one of the Forsaken, after all, and the curse is destroying her. (Yes, I am dark and demented. Or I can be. Some of my other sketches are actually cheerful, though they are usually the ones that I don't take seriously.) Oh, and sorry about the link. I couldn't post the picture here directly, it was way too big. i27.tinypic.com/mj4wg3.jpgI forgot to mention that Asila's pic had been a long unfinished outline that I went obsessive on when my computer broke down on me. A little negative energy can accomplish much. Below is the first one that I poured all of my anxiety into. I had hated the sketch, but when I finished it I thought it rocked. I was feeling pretty triumphant, so much so that I actually began ranting to myself about it. Thank god my grandparents sleep through this stuff. *amused grin* i25.tinypic.com/2zsqn7n.jpgAesthetically, I like this one more. It is more fluid and more brilliantly colored than the first. I think this is an excellent example of why I like draconic creatures so much!

I have the same sentiments as Pan. The shading on the dragon is amazing, you really chose your colors well. Everything about him, from his slick appearance, to how you did the spines on his, back, just fabulous.
Asila's is really good too. I like the background, it was well shaded, and it really makes her pop out. She looks sad; why is she looking at her hand? The only critique I have is that her head is a little unproportionally large. I know because I've done that way too many times to count....

Ah! Compliments! *ducks*
Well, that makes two of us who like the sea serpent more than Asila's pic. I like color...and darkness, and creatures that seem to flow across the page. And that one has all of those qualities.
As for Asila's pic, yes, I know. But I had really loved the sketch regardless. I have issues when it comes to anime style pics. (wrong phrase, but I can't remember the correct one.) My others are better...though they are only sketches. Ugh, I'm so self-conscious.
Hmm, now which ones shall I post next? If any? *ponders*

*groans* Darn it. Now I want to delete it...
Oh, and she's staring at her hand because it's messed up. Not because it's the wrong hand, I hadn't noticed that one, but because it nails are long and pointed and it's structure is kind of warped. (that was actually a mistake in the outline, but it fit my purpose well.
Glad you liked them, Rojo!

to pan* Don't remind me. *looks at the others* Do you know how many times she's had to tell me that my character's hand is on beckwards? I despise hands....As most people do. I can't wait to see your next picture!

And no, don't delete your Asila picture. It is really good. Don't take anything we say too badly, we're just trying to give constructive criticism so you can continue to improve! Please don't take it badly, we really do love the picture. How about I just flatter you enough that you give in?

*frowns* I really hate drawing hands. I don't have a problem when they're closer to scale, but I have trouble with them when I'm working on smaller images. It's a nightmare...In fact, I kind of dislike drawing people in general. All right...I'll post a few fun ones... With one exception. Next is Midnight's familiar. I need to redraw his antlers, but it's just a sketch right now. No need to get picky. Even for me. i29.tinypic.com/n1av7o.jpgThen I have a few pictures of my demon cat buddy, Fang. He's the first creature I have ever invented, and I still have fun working with his image. The silver cat that I labeled Willow is a creature from the first story that I had ever begun to work on consistently. I hate the story, though, so don't ask about it. i27.tinypic.com/eioah2.jpgi25.tinypic.com/16i64i1.jpgi30.tinypic.com/2rc4tqg.jpgOh, and I'll add the iaculi (an Egyptian for word for the winged serpent) because he turned out really cool. i28.tinypic.com/21oyqmx.jpg

Wow, you're animals are amazing! I love them all! (Can I adopt some please?) I don't know what you're talking about with the antlers, they look great. (I just wish the scanner picked it up a bit better...)
And the demon kitties are adorable. I love the "Innocence Illusion." You do borders and backgrounds so well, I'm envious! I can never do borders. The theme is great. You accidentally double posted the innocence illusion though. Does that mean there was another picture we were supposed to see in the double's place?
Ooo, serpanty goodness. I know Pan's going to love it (for the egyptian-i-ness)). The shading/ink job is amazing.

Huh, I wonder how I managed to double post. I'll delete the last one and put in the other Fang picture, then.
And yes, I do love my creatures. I have the most fun with them.

I just saw the update. Amazing. The colors are great. did you use pastel?

Pastel, acrylic paint, and colored pencil. I usually stick to just one medium for my pictures, but I kept changing my mind...
I'm glad you liked it, because I didn't. In my mind, the sea serpent I first posted is ideal because the shading is so smooth. This one looks more rough and drives me crazy...though that 'flaw' did give the greater demon's head (Fang is kind of a shape-shifter, though I know that I implied that already with the Innocence Illusion comic/panel/whatever the heck it is) a smokey look. *shrugs* Whatever works...
I'm thinking of adding more, because I have other fun pictures, but I feel obliged to post one in the (ugh, forgot the name of the thread) anyway, the thread that features early work that none of us are proud of. I might have to wait on the really old dragon pictures, though. I'm pretty sure that they're in storage at my grandma's house and I don't have access to them. Some of my freshman pictures would work nicely, though, since they're bad. *shakes head* And for once I'm not exaggerating...

Yeah, I really like it. As for the thread, yeah, it's up. Pan (despite her reluctance) posted one of her newer of the 'old things' she has. I doubt she's going to bring out her first sketchbook though, she's too embarrassed of it. Though I'm sure if you posted, I'd say they don't belong there
