Tallamous live in the southern area of the main continent and in a few large islands in the southwest. Stereotypically, they are known as being a war-loving peoples. While this is not true, they are generally hot-tempered and loners, usually looking to better themselves and not the society around them. As a result, they lack technology and have a barter economy.
Though they are somewhat anarchial, they technically have a tyrant overlord. Ironically, most Tallamous don't know who he is or what he looks like. Only the most powerful, intelligent, and well-connected have actual relations with him.
Tallamous, though a species, is also a culture. Non-tallamous who have taken up the lifestyle are called Hartems, roughly translated, 'brave-hearted.' ((NOTE: hartems will mostly consist of animal spirits and other creatures because humans have been oblivious and most Ostens hate Tallamous)). Tallamous who completely leave, as in, take up another lifestyle, (as many like to wander without any regard, that would not be considered 'leaving') are called Secreta, or 'fallen from honor ' or 'fallen from glory.'
Views on Others:
Tallamous despise Ostens--it's as simple as that.
Tallamous originally were indifferent about Humales (later, Humans). However, trying to gain leverage over the Ostens, they began to use Humans as tools whenever possible,. This eventually became their standpoint with all people--tools for achieving their means.
Abilities/Weaknesses: The most common abilities of Tallamous are born with are shapeshifting and extremely enhanced power, speed, and senses. Other abilities may very depending on type and/or magical education. Many can communicate with animals and can summon monsters. 95% of Tallamous tend to have a elemental weakness(es); not having one is extremely rare.
Appearances: Their shapeshifting magic eventually took its toll on genetics over the years. Tallamous have the most various appearances from looking practically human to beastmen to downright 'monstrous.' In other words, be creative. One common thing is that 90% of Tallamous are well-formed or even down right bulky.
Like Ostens, they have an increased life expectancy of about 3000 years (though most lose their lives well before then) and stop aging at maturity.
