And so, the mysterious invitation came to reach a handful of lucky people. The group is certainly of an usual group of people, those being particularly gifted in what society might not deem "acceptable." More likely than not, they have lived with many secrets. It is safe to say that it is more than unusual that this letter reached them. And such a wide variety of people too! Yes, it seems that all the member of the invitees have absolutely no connection to one another.
Sealed in a thick, off-white envelope, the parchment unfolds. Handwritten in flowing black ink, the owner of the Alcazar Jasmine, a "small" palace themed in Spanish mudéjar architecture, invites the each person to come with the chance of fulfilling their wildest dreams.
And you, dear travelor, are invited.
((ooc: sorry it this sounded a little vague. i have a general concept, but i wasn't sure what kind of characters you guys would have, or what time/place you guys would like. so, like i said, pm me or post on general boards!)

Akantha pulls up, dust aflying, on an unidentifiable motorcycle, obviously a custom job. She kicks the stand and surveys the palace warily as she unstraps her two bags from the back. She slings the smaller of the two over a shoulder and holds the other rested against her foot. She takes note of the other woman, but makes no acknowledgement.

Tallak comes up between the two ladies. He holds a parchment, most likely directions and the address, in one hand, and a wooden hiking stick in the other hand. (The terrain was uphill and slightly rugged).
He doesn't notice the other two at first, muttering a little about "So this is the place?" in a small approval. Smiling, he turns to both of the girls, 'Ah--by any chance have you two also received this 'mysterious' invitation? With some estraneous promises? I do hope it's nothing of a ridiculous fashion, such as an American reality show, I do enjoy having my dignity, wouldn't you say?"

She turns to him, face emotionless. "Dignity is a bit overrated." She smiles slightly. "But is this is a reality show, heads, as the cliche goes, will roll." She holds out her free hand to shake. "Akantha Zephyrine."

"Tallak Swane, and it is my pleasure," he says piquantly.

She studies his face for a few moments, eyes (for once) unobscured by her hair. Then she turns and looks up at the palace. "So what do you think we're doing here? Because, if you ask me, this whole "mysterious invitation" bit seems right out of some trashy novel."

"Oh yes, most certainly. We'll all live togehter beneath this mysterious big-brother until we all go mad with vuligeranence or ending spending the night with our 'friends.' I'm sure this voyersitic pervert would get a kick out of that," he says curtly, mocking their invisible host.

"Which, of course, does support the reality show idea. But the part about, wait, how was it phrased?" She pauses for an instant, before it comes to her. "Oh, yes, 'fulfilling our wildest dreams' seems a little suspicious, if not downright melodramatic. It's definately enough to make one wonder." She turns back to him. "is that why you're here? To 'fulfill your wildest dreams'?"

He laughs, "Oh heavens no. I am not so dimwitted to believe a would-be tv show is going to fulfill my wildest dreams. Though it was certainly melodramatic, I am a skeptic through and through. I came only to see what a mysterious host is up to and why he is trying to be so 'melodramatic.' I couldn't help but wonder who else he invited as well....." he eyes briefly wander to the left, taking a quick peek at the other, and rather strange looking, woman. I quickly turns his eyes back, as if avoiding a topic, "For the life of me, I can't figure out how he managed to find my information though. Doesn't that strike you as suspicous? I don't know about the others, but I am paying my fair share to not be listed in any yellow books."

"I'd like to know that myself. If you're paying your fair share, I'm paying for about five." Hre eyes graze over the palace once more. "But that's why I came," she says, nodding at it. "Quite a beautiful structure, perfect for my research." She seems almost entranced by it, voice taking a slightly whispy quality. "Just the setting for a murder mystery or possibly a romance."

He stares at her oddly for a moment, then says in a moment of enlightment, "Ah! You must be an author--correct? You certainly look like one in any case. Even so," he says with slight shivers, "if by some odd twist of fate we all stay here as intended, please don't bring any murder mysteries with you. I rather not live in parania that we will all be killed off like in one of Agatha's book, and then there was one I think it was...."

She laughs, quickly and returns to the slightly wistful expression on the palace. "No, don't worry. I have absolutly no intentions of a murder mystery coming into being here. I was meerly commenting that it would make a good setting." She turns back to him, questioning. "You think we won't be staying here?"
