Rojo watches as the riders get closer. There appear to be at least six. "Don't worry..." he assures his companions, noticing Devon's change of stance "just some 'officials' coming to see me."

Evening looked at Rojo once more, rounded ears pinned back and the golden eyes that were still hers filled with concern. Rojo wasn't doing himself any favors by being cryptic about the whole mess, because Evening now found herself wondering just what her friend had done to provoke the law officials here. What if they were going to hang him for a crime that he had or hadn't committed? Oh no, she wasn't going to let them take him. She would not fail someone again, she just couldn't.
So she looked back to the approaching horsemen, her concerned expression shifting into one of mulish stubbornness. She was not going to shift back. If they really wanted to, either Rojo or Devon could pretend to be an animal tamer and diminish the threat she posed in the eyes of these strangers. And if they needed to fight...well, what better form to take than that of a thousand pound predator?

Devon grimaces slightly but nods. "Whatever you say, Rojo. This is your home land after all..."

Rojo shrugs and stares as the riders get closer.
Soon the trio are encircled by men on horses, along with a few score of elves and dark elves. "You, there, you are under arrest for suspicion of the kidnapping of Rojo Rodriguez." The man gestured at Devon.
"The hell he is..." growled Rojo, locking eyes with the accuser. The man started "But, sir..." "Don't call me sir!" "But..." Rojo silenced him with a finger. "DO something useful and escort us to Glin. I shall be telling the Council Of The Nine about this..." The guard stiffened "Yes..." he turned and signaled for two horses to be drawn "Three," Rojo told him cheerfully in his normal voice "the bear is actually a person." The guard sighed and signaled for a third.

Evening shifted back into her true form, trying really hard not to look sheepish. Or confused. Who could have guessed that they would have come for Devon? This wasn't even his world! Oh well, Rojo had straightened the mess out so now she might as well tag along and see what happens next.
She walks up to the third horse that they had pulled forward, an average-looking mare except for the striking blue roan color of it's coat. She brushes her fingers through the creatures mane and speaks softly into her ear, politely greeting the horse before asking permission to swing onto it's back. When the mare gives a gentle nod, she leaps effortlessly onto her back and grins at her friends as though this were the most normal thing in the world. Well, for her it was.

The confused look on Devon's face matches Evening when the guards pointed to him and attempted to arrest him. Like he was even physically capable of kidnapping a full grown, experienced adventurer. Not that they knew that. Maybe, in a strange way, he should take it as a compliment? After all, Rojo seemed to be a person of no little consequence in his own world. Had he disappeared, surely he would be missed in Maderal, but throughout the whole world? Never. Yet here, within moments of arriving on YOrl, EVERYONE has been hounding the missing man. He chuckles softly beneath his breath in spite of it all.
But what really catches Devon's attention is when the guards bring over two, no three, steeds. He almost lets a 'Wow! A REAL horse,' slip out before he realizes how unusual it would sound. He smiles in awe (horses, being so very rare on Veneria), before noting Evening's ease with the animal. Well, it could be figured, she is a Tallamous after all. He silently envied her grace as he quickly contemplated how to approach the rare (to him, at least) creature.
"Doesn't look too different from my tigers..." he thinks just before saddling the horse as well, though probably not quite as well. Nonetheless, after a moment he adjusts himself just fine. Smiling, he contemplates asking the guards why they thought he kidnapped Rojo. For all they knew, Devon could have theoretically rescued him and was trying to return him home. Such accusative people...why, they didn't even have any evidence! Why, they didn't even know Devon's name. Really, detectives should know better than to assume!

The rider who had approached them quickly mounts his horse before whistling and making a hand gesture. The group begins to move forward, but not before making a sort of layer around the three new riders.
Rojo lies back in he saddle, taking his hands off the reins and putting them behind his head to show off.

Evening frowned when the riders formed a loose circle around the three of them, disliking the sensation of being closed in. Not that she couldn't escape easily should she desire too. It would be so easy to just turn into a bird and fly away.
Calmed by the thought, she turned to Rojo and Devon with an easy smile on her face, but it immediately vanished when she caught sight of Rojo. "Show-off" She said loud enough for him to hear. She turned her gaze to Devon and rolled her eyes in a can-you-believe-him? sort of way.

Devon, however, is much too preoccupied to notice Rojo's little antics. With what, you might ask? Let's just say, he's practically leaning of every which way, constantly moving about in his saddle to better inspect the animal he is riding. He wears such a happily surprised look, as this is the first real horse he has seen in his life. The horse, however, doesn't seem to quite as joyous as Devon, and is most likely annoyed by his constant (slightly unsafe) movements and childish giddiness.
And of course, the inevitable happens. In all the bouncing back and forth, when the horse goes to gently leap over a small log, Devon goes flying off like a novice rider.

Rojo ignores Evening's comment, rolling his eyes. She and Devon might as well be a Married Couple. ((Strongly reminded of Hancock)) He saw Devon flailing in the air momentarily before the noble hit the soft ground. "Is it me, or are you a grade-A pillock?" Rojo askes, grinning and lifting Devon to his feet with a short show of magic.

Evening grinned when the young noble fell, amused. "Devon, how can you be so clumsy when you're a noble? I thought you people were supposed to be elegant!" She teased him good-naturedly.
The horse was an interesting creature, but not all that different from the deer. Were they really that fascinating?
Of course, this was also the girl that went out of her way to talk to odd, four-legged creatures. Like the worg, for example. She could hardly be expected to understand the average person's fascination for exotic and beautiful animals. She admired them, sure, but not to the point that she was so utterly mesmerized.

Devon frowns childishly with embarrassment , murmuring audibly beneath his breath, "I am not a pillock..." He hates being lifted up, as if he were utterly incapable of get back on the saddle by himself, and would have some mind to struggle out of Rojo's magical grasp, but decides not to, so he doesn't continue to make a fool out of himself. That and he's fairly sure that the gesture was just to be helpful.
"Oh hush Evening, it's not as though nobility deems savant impeccability. Besides, I am trying to get away from that mind frame."

Rojo turned to Evening "Black Sheep, sort of thing, I think he means...trying to live his teenage years, obviously..." He grinned. It was one of the rare occasions he made a joke with Evening rather than Devon, quite feeling like the roles had reversed and Devon was the one to be chidied, and Evening was the one to chuckle at said chiding.

Evening grinned back at Rojo. "Poor thing. I think he was deprived, you know. Materialistic goods galore but no real chance to get out." She was pretty much talking about Devon as though he wasn't there (and in a gossiping tone of voice, no less) to try and drive him nuts.

The indignanty of it all! The noble refuses to be walked all over in such a manner, and has to fight the strong urge to up-turn his nose at both of them, lest he want to be the subject of ridicule for acting like a stereotypical noble. Trying to keep a perfectly even, straight face, he retorts in icy eloquence, "Well it seems that even without materialistic goods, you two would fit dandily into noble social network... of gossiping."
