Devon quickly nodded, smiling innocently. Which probably means he doesn't understand at all.

Rojo looks concerned "You could die, all right?" he says, then leaves the hut and makes for the small man waiting on the beach be a long wooden boat.

Devon's face just looked like it was saying "how exciting!" He really was like a small child when it came to this. In a new world, dealing with new people, an adventure at hand. How could one possibly have time to worry when there is so much excitement in the air?

The little man doesn't speak Capital, so he beckons for them to hop into the boat.

Devon nods, walking into the boat, and smiling at him before turning to Rojo, "Do you speak his language?"

Rojo shakes his head "But he knows where we're going" he says reasuringly, and clambers onto the boat. The little man picks up the oars and begins the long sail across the sea...

"Is such a little boat suitable for such a long journey? or is the mainland not very far away?"

"Depends...some people say the land moves. Cogswallop, o' course, but sometimes the tides change...lunar patterns, some philosophers say. Cogswallop too." He began to hum a tune. It wasn't a very good one, but it was simple.

Devon didn't really feel the need to correct Rojo by saying that land really DID move, however slowly, and that the phases of the moon DID have a gravitational effect on the tides. Perhaps he would englighten him later though, when he could back these claims with scientific evidence. "What are you humming?" he instead asked.

"Oh, an old dwarven travelling song" he said, casting his hand around. Then he grinned "I still absolutely must show you dwarves. Funniest little blighters you'll ever meet. Bloody good warriors too, I've seen full grown orcs run away from a bare-chested dwarf, plastered with war paint and screaming 'is head off."

"You can only imagine my excitement Rojo--I can't wait to see all these things and new peoples!"

"Yeah...ain't no wars over two races here, well 'cept for the Goblins and Dwarves, but they've always bin fighting." He waved with his hand, as if to drive the thoughts of battle out of Devon's mind. "Yeah...not all races are so welcoming, though." He added darkly.

He blinks curiously, "Really? Which ones should I watch out for?"

"Wild Orcs...Deep Goblins...Deep Dwarves...Undead" he said, then added as a cheeky after thought "most undead, anyway, some're all right." He raised his eyebrows for half a second. "There's much more, but I'll keep yeh safe"

"Undead?" Devon gave a questioning look.
