I sounded less jumpy? Really? You realize I can't really sound anything, as this is written. But in any case, Shana (as it is sometimes shortened to) is about this secret spiritual world that runs parallel (or right on top of) our world. It begins by explaining that every person has an energy called 'the power of existance,' which (as the name suggests) allows us to exist. However, monsters in the spirit realm eat human existance, and since people are oblivious to the spirit world, they don't realize anything. Once a human's existance is devoured, a temporary 'torch' is formed. A sort of souless entity that eases the memory of the person into nothing. People (friends, family, etc) begin to forget the person who became a torche as the torches energy vanishes. They completely forget they ever existed once they vanish.
Along with these monsters, there are also hunters (like the hunter Shana), who with the help of gods (shana's god is Alastar), destroy the monsters to mantain balance. The first episode begins with a young boy who accidentally stumbles into this world, almost gets eaten by a monster, only to discover that he already WAS a torch!
Sound interesting?
In any case, as I said in the cbox, I'm uber excited! they're coming out with a FOURTH season to SLAYERS!!! AFTER ALL THESE YEARS!!! It's crazy, 'cuz my two favorite old anime/manga were Violinist of Hamelin and Slayers and just recently both have announced that they're coming out with a continuation!! I ish a very very happy camper. I still can't help but think that it seems weird though....both of them had ended about +11 years ago, and just NOW they've decided to release a continuation of them.... Very suspicious.....
So Rojo, if you are into old-school styles, comedy, fantasy, and adventure, go read Violinist of Hamelin (the manga, fore heaven's sake don't watch the anime) and Slayers (the anime). And if you want some deep, dark, philosophical, action-packed show, go check out Shakugen no Shana.

Nothing good every shows up on Anime Central (the channel for anime) anymore. It's all Ghost In The Shell and Cowboy Bebop. They're the only animes on anymore...but maybe I could get some people into getting that for me on DVD... ... ... ... I like Azumanga Daioh...I don't think it's weird that I, a boy, like a girl's anime.

I don't see any reason why you should feel ashamed, especially since I heard that show is hysterical. Besides, you really need a mix of shoujo and shonen to really appreciate anime. It gets tiring if you only watch the same genre of shows all the time. That and I think a lot of people are watching mixes nowadays. I like Ouran Kokou Highschool Host Club, and some other 'girly' stuff, but I also like more serious stuff or more action-packed stuff as well.
Hey, what do you think of Avatar? You know, the American made anime?

I watched it for a bit...I liked the concept and the idea of the plot and such, but it wasn't really...Anime-y egnough. I got bored though, as I prefer shows that have no actual plot, so if you miss an episode, it doesn't matter.
