oh--I see.
I'm really rather upset at my friend whose boards I was originally rping Devon on. She deleted ALL of the posts before I had the chance to save them. Which really upsets me, considering I like to hold onto what I write (there were a lot of really good, funny moments), and deleting everything was selfish since it was only her threads that were dying.

Oh. That's really unfair! I remember my first RP. It wasn't even on a board, it was on a Rock Paper Scissors Chat Box, and we would have to stop when the admins came in. Ah, I miss those guys so much...

yes *grumbles* I don't like it when posts are randomly deleted. you'll probably notice that I don't actually delete rp posts, I'll just be locking them after a thread is finished, so people can always read back and find out what was going on.
a chat box? really? that must have been pretty interesting....
so what ever happened to it? was chat box rping too difficult? or did everyone just stop coming on?

As for the chatbox. Alas, it was updated so you couldn't chat anymore. I think someone got caught roleplaying by the owner of the site.

Yes, I know how sad it is to suddenly lose everything you took the time and effort to write. At one point, when proboards was updating itself, every thread lost all it's posts. It was really upsetting and it killed a whole bunch of rps. It used to be that every thread was pretty much a seperate rp, but then all of that just DIED.....
....what's the point of a chatbox that you can't chat in? that seems rather silly.....
So are you on any other rp sites then? do you rp with any of your friends in real life?

No, none of my friends really like RP, or RPGs for that matter.
I've been on a lot of RP sites. The RP forum on the WoW site, before I quit. The Chatbox on Weebl's Stuff. Nexuschat. Silver Crossing. Fanfiction.com RP forum. But I like this one...it's...balanced. Nobody thinks their invincible, and the characters are much more deep.

Why thank you! I'm glad you like it. I usually try to avoid large sites--it starts to feel like a competition for "who has the best character," and soon EVERYONE is god-moding and power-gaming or just too damn perfect. plus, it's actually nice to not be constantly lost on what other people are doing....

Mmm. For example, on Fanfiction forum, we were sailing, and Squall had stolen some treasure from a ship. So, when one of the crew breaks the rule of parley, Davvy Jones appears with the kraken, and every time Jones throws a spell at this dark elf, he says "I'm immune to all magic" and I was thinking "You're a real bastard, aren't you? You really enjoy taking advantage of being an admin. If I say that you're god-moding, you'll ban me."
But I like it here, it's not over-crowded either.

wow, that DOES majorly suck. what a jerk! I pride myself in not doing that--but if I ever start acting like a jerk, please tell me. I won't ban people for honesty, and I don't want to scare good rpers away.
still *laughs* immune to ALL magic....that IS funny....I'm glad I didn't have to rp with that jerk!

Indeed. I think he said it was due to sleeping for five-thousand years in the underdark. I mean, that's just a silly backstory...also, have you ever noticed how so many character's backstorys involve their parents being killed or their village being razed. I'm not being mean, it just gets used so much it seems like a cliche.
