Smiles serenely at Snape, knowing perfectly well what the look on his face means. "And if you don't want to go shopping, you can always stay behind with me and be my personal runner. I can't go rushing all over for decorations and cook at the same time, something might burn."

Severus ponders the proposal and comes to the conclusion that this option is not much better than the first. Still, it does not involve freezing his arse off. However, he must oppose the question, "What am I getting out of this?"

"The joy and happiness of the season. And not getting a head ache or a freezing arse from running around outside with them." Gestures to the bunch that is running wild all over the lair.

Severus grumbles something that sounds like, "fine". He hates this holiday. But that was already stated. "Mind you, they do not allow me at the mini-mart anymore. Court order."

Stops stirring a batch of cookie dough to look at him. "Do I even want to know why?"

[Snape]

"I--I . . . I don't have to explain myself to you! That display was asking for it! As was the manager of that worthless establishment . . . " Severus rants on for several more minutes about commericialism, holiday music and what sounds like communism, but one can never be sure.

Goes back to stirring the cookie dough, half-listening and looking amused.

Erik smirks at the ramblings of the young socially-inept wizard and chuckles a bit. "Our dear Severus, do calm down. Whether or not you molested a display stand at the mini-mart is completely and entirely only your business. We will not try to pry into your love affairs, so long as we remain immersed in out materialistic fantasy Christmas," Erik bats his eyelashes in a mocking, but coy way, and chuckles once again. He then regains a proper stance and says in the most serious of tones, "However, the Communist empire of the North Pole is quite a serious problem. Santa simply must be taken down before the events in the Chirstmas special of Futurama come to take place."

but, but...saint nicholas isn't a communist.....*sniff*...wait, so who's going tree hunting?

"I'm not. I'm staying here and finishing my cooking and then I'm going to finish wrapping the gifts. In the mean time, Snape is going to go find the ornament boxes in my attic."

how bout we all just go tree hunting tomorrow? (aka, another thread) that way we can enjoy the food now!!! (serena likes food, even the virtual kind)

Severus looks offended. "I did not have sexual relations with that display! . . . I merely blasted the damned thing to holy hell . . . and kicked it a few times." He struts off in a huff to Rene's attic.

"The foods not done yet though! Do you have any idea how long it takes to make good gingerbread cookies?"
