Aaaaand I drew Crevan and Ellina together. Though I wasn't able to post the image until after I squealed over Seven's incredible picture for twenty minutes. That picture is so lovely it hurts my soul. Anyway, here's my sketch.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!! -^_^- It's so precious! What a cute, lightly romantic moment! It's really adorable, and it makes me happy! Just the shared expression and eye contact between the two makes it really sweet and something you can immediately connect with. And making them in loosely symmetrical forms in their sitting position with their crossed arms and hands touching--awwwwwwwwwwww! It's too cute! It's such a clever pose. Also, I'm infinitely amused by the fact that you carried over the part where Crevan hangs his glasses on the collar of his sweater. Just saying. :3 Might I add that I really love how you do the eyes? I think they look really deep just by means of their shape and the size of the iris. I don't know how you do it, but it neither looks entirely toonish or animesque, but uniquely your own, and I really like it. And just the way you drew them seems to convey a lot of expression even if you couldn't see the rest of their body language. I guess what I'm trying to say is that this picture has a lot of really interesting subtlety. Nothing about it is loud or obnoxious, and yet you really connect with it. Ellina toying with her hair was another really fun touch. And I should just throw in there that you did a great job drawing Crevan. Again, to the emotions, I have to say, you found a very nicely Crevan-expression for him to be wearing. I doubt I could have done that better myself. Also, at this rate, you're going to get way better at hands than me.

Aw, I'm so happy that you like it! That makes me like it. More. *shifty eyes* And I'm glad I made Crevan look like Crevan. I referenced your Crevan picture multiple times to make sure I got it right. Part of the reason that I couldn't resist doing the same thing with the glasses that you did. As for the eyes, they're done in the same style Saika's were, since I loved her expression so much and she was also done on a smaller scale. If it works, I'm not going to stop using it. I tried a lot of other eye styles, mostly anime-style since that's what's the bases had going on and it was not working for me. I'm really happy you took the time to comment. Now I'm wishing I'd written about how much I love your picture instead of telling you on the phone, so that I could have a written version.

*grins* Well, you know, I'm always up for more flattery, if you want to write it out. Ha ha! ;D
Yeah, between the Saika drawing and now this one, it seems like your defining your own style--at least for Dust characters. (I know at least I sometimes change styles for different groups on accident...) As for anime-eyes... those are tricky, especially since so many of them are the overly cutesy, giant girl eyes that are inhumanly tall. I've also found I need some sort of variation on anime eyes too, since those tall eyes usually/generally drive me nuts and I can only rarely use them. I think your curtsying Tallamous Evening picture also looks really similar in style, if I might add. Just saying.
I'm going to have to draw a picture of Ellina one of these days too. Maybe in a group picture. That'd be fun. I'd probably need another larger than 8x11 sheet though. Well, thankfully, back at home I have a sketchbook that would just meet those requirements that's totally blank. Oh yeah, excited for that. :3

I'm developing a guilty conscience, so here's the base. I really can't take much credit for the pose. browse.deviantart.com/?order=9&q=base&offset=48#/d493if1 I did modify their hands so that they are only touching, instead of being held. In art world, you learn that having two things just barely touching adds tension. Usually uncomfortable tension (it's better to have two objects of a painting overlap than just barely touch at the edges) but in this case, I thought it made the look they were sharing more electric. There's certainly more anticipation then there would be otherwise. And I'd love to see a group picture! You should definitely get to work on it when you're back home. :3 Now, written flattery for Seven's picture of Molly and Lief! When I first looked at that image, I was just floored by the beauty of the scene. It's so serene, lovely, and magical. Molly really looks like he's been through hell and back. Which he has, and I can see in the picture how hard the journey has been on him. And to see him sitting there, looking so tired and a little lost, listening to the music of what appears to be a beautiful woman...it's just beautiful. It's a beautiful interaction between the two, and the lovely background really does it justice. I want so badly to see this one in color. All the elements of an incredible image are already there. Lief's hair is mind-blowing, by the way. How does he find the time? I am so envious! I need Lief to do my hair for special occasions. He's damned talented. :3 But yes, the poses, the atmosphere...it's all so convincing. I can all but hear the music that Lief is playing. That picture is just one moment away from coming alive, and I just want to hold my breath and wait for that eventuality every time I look.

Hey man, don't guilt me into what or what not to draw, or else I'll lose inspiration and not draw at all. (<--It's true.) Whatever strikes me is what strikes me. I just happened to have a 8x14 and thought "Lief and Molly." I am really kicking myself for not having a sketchbook here though. The second piece of paper I have has already been reserved for drawing myself a digimon, since Asila pulled me into that one. In any case, I'm coming home in a week, and SINCE I'LL BE DONE WITH SCHOOL (still mind blowing) I should have more freetime than I'll know what to do with. Drawing is part of my priorities. And possibly restarting our god damn comic, Pan. Also, technically, this is supposed to be my art thread, but apparently hijacking it is a cool trend or something, since everyone including Aka seems to do it. At Asila, yeah, don't feel guilty about having used a based. One, you altered it; two, you obviously didn't trace it; three, pretty much everyone out there uses bases at some point. It still is a great pic.

Yes, it is great fun to hijack Seven's thread. Keeps things interesting. :3 I do feel justified in my hijacking since what I post here is usually in response to something Seven is up to. I think it makes for an interesting commentary. Aka posted her picture for the same reason... Speaking of hijacking, here's the finished Crevan/Ellina picture. alias-asila.deviantart.com/#/d57dm9sTo Pan: I could probably give drawing Kealya's dragon another shot. I've really been on a roll with the creature designing lately. I think I'll draw her dragon by herself, however. That'll make things easier for me. Unless you can find a base for Kealya that you'd like me to design a dragon around?

Wow, the colored version looks really pretty. No doubt because you're so good with colored pencils. I really love the way you shade: it adds texture. I never could do that (I just color in circles, so it doesn't look nice like how you have it). Weirdly enough, it's really the pairs of pants that I love staring at, perhaps because you can really see how the shading was done on them with the crosslines and such. But all of it is super cool and vaguely psychedelic. Love the psychedelic background colors meshed with the geometric shapes creating what looks like to me like a pseudo-sunrise. On the other hand, the the fact that you have the light in the back on the horizon, expanding out into dark makes it seem like they're in their own personal world. Or box. You know, since they're prisoners, haha. In any case, it has a strange contrasting feel of them being outdoors, but still being contained, but not being contained by "power of the heart" type virtues that you see in kids' shows that I'm always a sucker for. Or maybe it's that the light coming from around them is fighting back the containment? It's fun in any case.
Also, I love Ellina's pants. I want a pair.

Didn't mean to make you feel guilty Serena was not my intention I just miss our art trades that's all. Also Alisa never feel bad about using a base, in fact I use them all the time when I can't draw something. Also drawing the dragon on it's down will be fine I bet I can find a way to work around it and slap Kealya in there somewhere.
lol wut? Be able to get stared on out comic again? Funny you should say that I have been trying new ways of shading things XD
