The monk has the look of utter shock and confusion as he turns to the Cardinal, with an almost sub-conscious pleading look. The the cardinal's stern eye looks down and quiets him. The monk retreats, but shoots a snyde look to both Antonio and Severus.
"Well, Lord Medici, since you so graciously claimed him as yours, then I allow you to continue your care for his maddness. But! I advice you to NOT let him lose upon Venice's citizens again....or perhaps you shall be standing trial next..." he says in a slight threatening demeanor, knowing he can take away the man's entire life with a few simple accusations. With that, he rises, a long with the entirity of the room (in his honor) and he walks out, followed by the rest of the priests, and lastly by the young monk.
Once they leave the vicinity, the young monk fierely scrambles to the front where the elderly cardinal walks graciously. "Father," he yelps, "why--shouldn't we have further investigated first? I-I-I mean--at least a background check, to see if he truly is mad, or even related to the family?" The cardinal puts a hand up to halt his fervish speaking, "My son, did you consider why he might have stepped in...and hy I made my desicion?" the monk remains in silence. "Firstly, all men are the children of God, and should thus be treated so. Secondly, considering Lord Medici reputation is quite heavily at stake, I doubt he would have stepped in for anyone other than his own family. He is a good man, and I doubt he'd lie for the sake of some ruffan. He'd have nothing to gain by doing so, only smearing his respected name with dirt." "But what if the soccerer is forcing him--or if they are on the same--" the monk is cut off by the lucid words of the old Cardinal. "I never said there wouldn't be an investigation. It shall just remain...unnamed...not to tarnish the degree of the holy order..." The monk stands in delighted awe, "and you shall be the one to investigated," the cardinal casually walks by him, letting the schock sink into the monk who looks horrified. "You can begin tomorrow. get what you need."

Medici bows graciously, “Grazie, Cardinal. It never happen again.” As the holy men and the rest of the Venicians leave the room, our new friend lets out a sigh of relief. Straightening his hat, he addresses the strange band of newcomers he has, for whatever reason, just rescued, “Well, that was a close one. Now, I realize you all are not from around here but you must be more careful!”
Severus arches an eyebrow to him and asks bitterly, “And exactly, who are you?”
“Forgive me, I am Lord Antonio Giovanni Medici.” he replies, proudly ignoring Snape’s rudeness, “I will explain more later. Please, follow me to my home and stay as my guests. You all look tired and hungry and there is plenty of room.”

Suddenly, something finally dawns on Severus. He looks at Medici, wide-eyed.
“Did you say your name is Antonio Medici?” he asks, in a tone that were it coming from anyone else, you swear it was excited.
“Yes, I did.” the nobleman answers, looking slightly impatient. He flips his hair out of his face, very much the way our young friend does.
“Merlin’s Beard! You’re my—my ancestor!” Severus nearly shouts, "You we’re the only wiz—"
Medici cuts him off, “Not so loud! Are you coming with me or not?”
Severus nods furiously, “Of course!”

*When they finally reach the house* (sorry I'm lazy, if you want to describe the place, feel free to snape*
A beautifu young maiden waits inside the gates of the manner. She looks up, hearing footsteps and gets a delighted look. She calls out sweetly in ahighly accented Italian accent, "Antonio, Antonio, my husband, my love," she grabs the back of his head and showers kisses over his face. Then, she smacks him, with the might that would readily give him a concussion, "You fool! I wait and I wait for you to come home, worried sick, not knowing where you've gone or when your coming home. You leave me here all day readyto die--but you'd like that wouldn't you, so you can go run off with some courtisans" she says in a snippy tone. "I make sure you have food to eat and meat and wine despite this horrible plague, and you don't come home to eat on time!" she shakes her hands in frustration in the very Italian manner," and THIS is how you repay me!? All of my hard work and labor and sweat--and now your letting the food get rotten on the table being contaiminated with flies! Well--I hope you enjoy your meal cold! Aletta, Anita, come help me to my lavoro." she claps her hands and walks off with two servant girls in an indignant manner.

Medici rolls his eyes. “In case you did not realize, that was the Lady Medici.” he says in a rather bored tone. Unfortunately, Medici, (like many others in this age) is trapped in a tumultuous marriage. His spouse is around seventeen and he is now pushing thirty. Naturally, the age difference can be very frustrating at times. Though he does his very best to please his mate, sometimes it’s just impossible.
“Well, come in, my friends” he sighs, holding the gating open, “Before she locks the door behind her.”
Severus chuckles to himself. He smirks at Antonio on the way past, vowing never to marry.

A nice place indeed. The Villa Medici is quite expansive, its rooms adorning only the finest of Fifteenth Century decor. Marble statues of all sizes are scattered about, so lifelike you could swear they were looking at you in silent greeting. The furniture alone is a wonder in and of itself, with its delicate woodcarvings and fine patterns etched within every inch. Remarkable paintings from artists of the period, clearly having been lost in our time, hang upon the walls suggesting both wealth and prestige. The spectacular and ornate detail of the entire home is nothing short of breathtaking to those have an eye for such things.
Severus observes the villa in quiet amazement, looking all about . . . Absorbing the detail. Having come from a rather under privileged family, these are sights that are rarely seen by him. Well, it’s safe to say that the Malfoy Manner pales in comparison to all this. Severus jerks his head upon hearing Hope’s remark. “This is the Renaissance.” he scoffs, “We are no were near the Eighteenth Century.”
Medici smiles, noting the astonishment of his “descendant”. “If he’s impressed now, how will he react once he sees the rooms?” he laughs inwardly.

Lady of the house, Rosetta Medici, walks into the room with the pose of a peacock. Her graceful air of sheer elegance can be sensed all throughout the room as she enter with her girl-servants behind her. "Welcome my guests," she says with a charming smile, and bows before all of them, "Please, feel at ease in our humble home, and to go forth a request any wishes you may have. Though I know you not, I am most gladly your friend for befriending my beloved husband. If you may, dinner is served for the whole of you," she says, staying inher appropiate role of a good hostess. But as she leaves she passes Antonio Medici and discretly gives him a small quesitoning look that says, 'Why are convicted and possibly dangerous people in our house? I know you don't really know them!"
