Anything anyone wants to talk about? Well, so far, only Asila and Punschke are reading Alcazar, and Punschke never responds.....and Aka never responds to anything but Alcazar....*sees this is going to be a dying thread*
Hopefully a few people will swing by here so I can talk to them and get AJ out of my system enough to no explode. *grins sheepishly, like Tall*

Oh, I have a question for for you, Seven! Well, it's probably going to turn out to be multiple questions, but here goes... So, why is Tall afraid that he might be as crazy as his sister? Is it because he, like Rhinoa, will go to whatever means neccesary to attain his goal? ((stated this in the chat box, but I thought I'd start out with that question. I know I can follow up as soon as I get clear answer out of you. ))

Good question. Tall definitely thinks he's just as crazy as his sister for a whole bunch of reasons. First of all, they're twins, and in a way, they are uncannily alike, yet unalike. Both fall in love with the love stories of yesteryear (Tall having the Moon princess, and Rhinoa about the previous Earth/Sun duo, though I haven't gotten to introduce that yet), both were prodigies of some sort, but mostly, both are crafty and shrewd. You can see that both Tall and Rhinoa portray themselves in one manner, but when it boils down to it, they are both really quite dark people, and yes, they are willing to do whatever it takes to attain their goals. I remember that you brought up that Rhinoa is such a convincing character, that it seems that she too has fallen into her own web of lies, believing her actions to be righteous. This is both a yes and no answer. It's like she originally knew what she was doing was wrong, but didn't care. Then, afterwards, she found justification for her actions, which she enveloped herself in. At this point, she knows she can't go back because she's too deep in, and she's stubborn, so this has become her knew justification for what she does.
Tall is a logical person, and he sees his own shrewd dark character; he sees how twisted he can be, and even though he sees what he's doing, he continues to do it, making him feel even more twisted. A sort of self-perpetuating cycle. There were instances in his own past, back before he was cursed, that he acted ruthlessly as well. There are few interesting parts to his mentality as well that aren't as obvious. Though some of the things he does are 'normal' to the average person, the Sun Followers raised him with a different set of morals and taboos. So despite some things being ok with society, they go against what's been engrained in his mentality. And though he has adapted these beliefs, he goes against them not because he necessarily thinks they're wrong, but rather for his own reasons. He continues to act ruthlessly, such as in setting up AJ, lying to people who become his friends, and then trying to betray them. Tall...well, he really DOES have a lot of issues..... When his soul was disintegrating, it only worsened the problem by causing his conflicting personas (how he feels he'd like to be, and how he percieves himseld) to further divide. Just like Rhinoa has her web of lies, Tall relates to this idea that everything he's done in the past 5 years has been a dream for him, and in dreams, we act on upon how we think and feel. Considering what he's done, doing, etc, he can't help but realize he is very similar to his sister, and constantly worries that he's becoming just as bad as her.
Eugene hints a few things in his first appearance, when he explains why he didn't choose to go over to Rhinoa's side. He says, "You're a dark and shrewd wizard, but a kind and good master." Pretty much, despite all the things Tall does, all his plans and scheming, his intentions are still nobler or more innocent. He's fails to realize this though because of what he's done, not noticing that most of the things he has done have been for unselfish reasons. Even now, he trying to change himself so he (or ratherm fix himself) for Aka's sake, since he doesn't want her to be hurt anymore.

Yes, I really did understand Tall better than I thought. I was so sure that I must be missing something (mostly because I doubt my ability to perceive things accurately) but your entire 'ramble' made perfect sense to me! All right, so now I understand Tall...but I want to clarify what I was trying to get at when I was referring to Rhinoa and her web of lies. She's clever enough that she would realize that what she is doing is immoral...or at least she would have known this at first. But I was just thinking that, perhaps as she gets everyone around her to fall for her story, she begins to beleive in it herself? I'm sure that by now she must feel wronged by Tall and his actions and beleives herself entitled to a great deal. And if everyone sympathises with her, that sense of entitlement or self-righteousness would only continue to gain strength. Perhaps until even Rhinoa herself is blinded to the true state of things by the deceitful glamor that she has cast... But I'm just speculating and repeating a lot of what you've already said, so I'll leave it at that. Besides, I now have questions about Randy...it seems as though he's acting really odd to me. Out of the two, Randy was the one who tended to display his emotions openly...so why does he seem so tranquil now that Eugene has died? Where has this strength come from and why? Is he distracting himself by focusing on Tall's health and well-being? Or has Eugene's death not quite sunk in yet? Since acknowledging these things can sometimes take a great deal of time... Sorry, I hope I didn't ask too many questions.

*cocks head* Really? I was really doubting it would make sense to anyone. You know, I could have probably summed up my whole point to: 1) Tall is a dark person 2) He sees a lot of himself in Rhinoa, therefore he thinks that he is just as bad as her. Oh well, sorry for the long ramble. Hopefully you got more out of it than I did....
As for Rhinoa, yes, at this point she really has convinced herself that she is right. She knows she was wronged by Tall, and now, she thinks whatever she does is 'all right' since Tall did worse to her. It's a sort of 'ends justifies means' mentality, that TALL did so much wrong, now she's doing whatever must be done to make it right (even though it's making it 100-fold worse.)
As for Randy, yes, he's suffering a great deal because of Eugene. It's not that he's in denial about his death, it's just that he knows he should be happy now that Tall is free and around. It's BECAUSE Eugene died that he's now acting tranquil. It was always Eugene's place to be the tranquil one, portective, intelligent, and silent. Randy never thought of himself as that great of a caretaker (more like an older brother, since the two are 7 years apart), so now that Eugene is gone, he suddenly feels responsible, like he has to take his position. It is also a means of trying to keep his mind off of it, but....I don't know how much longer he can bare it.
And please, ask all the questions you'd like--I love to answer them!

Crap, crap, I forgot about this thread! Ugh, I get side-tracked so easily. I'm sorry! Anyway, I really liked your summary of Tall. It helped clarify a lot of the vague impressions that I had held. I don't know why you worry about rambling so much. These posts of yours are far more coherent than you seem to think. Or perhaps it really was a nonsensical ramble and the only reason that I could understand it is because I'm crazy. Which would mean that you were crazy too, since you were the one who wrote it. ;D I'm joking, of course! Poor Randy, though. I feel bad for him.

Don't. He was originally supposed to die, too. I talked Seven out of it.

Yeah, she did. Aka hates it when I create characters that act like jerks in the beginning, then make her love them, then kill them off. It's a bad habit of mine. ;D

Ahh...my favorite threat against you. "I'll kill Kaisis!!!" But yeah, it was Pan's plot....but I agreed to it.
anyways, we're getting off topic. This is about AJ, not the spin off next generation rp of the DDI!

*is confused* DDI? *shakes head* Never mind, I'm sure it requires a long explanation, but I'm still intrigued. Curse the two of you for taunting me with such snippets of information!
However, I have returned to this thread to discuss Tall's trial. (I have now made it to page 140 in The End of the Missions.) Aka's amused take on the entire situation, and the resulting antics, are killing me with laughter! Honestly, such behavior would have me giggling even at a trial that was sure to have me condemned to death. Which is just the position that Tall is in. Still, I would be laughing like a mad person if I was in his shoes!
Really, though, this is good. I must return to the point I had just left in order to make this response. *returns to AJ*

I finally reached the sex scene. You are silly for thinking yourself a pervert, Aka! It was perfectly tasteful and beautifully written. I'm willing to bet that both of you have run into worse in one of those cheap romances that nearly all of us manage to cross by this point in our lives! You did very well!

*gasps for breath* NEVER do that again! You had me convinced that Aka had died! I was crying, darn it! (well, I knew that she must have lived if the thread continued on as it did, but still! It was so sad, and Tall's reaction so beautifully written. That scene really had me going, so I guess I'm glad that the two of you freaked me out like that.
However, I'm still going to pretend I'm angry.
*exaggerated expression of indignance* The two of you are sadistic!

DDI = Dog Demon Inn. Remember, Pan made a board of it on DS? It's the title of the comic I'll eventually be making. But yes, I'm not getting into it, as it requires lots of explanation. *shifty eyes* It's where the 7 and Crevan come from. Kaisis is the son of one of the members of the 7.
Yes, the trial was amusing. Tall came in, trying so hard to win back their confidence. Aka just HAD to be Aka and screw that all up. By the end of it, Tall pretty much just gave up and decided to join Aka in her taunting. We laughed a lot during it. And decided the only cool Elder is the small child. Who ironically had the most sense.
Yes, Aka knows this. And I know how insanely proud she is of it. *I take no credit in writing it, as I was just thrown aside except for minor comments. Tall was comendeered by her* Aka just wants to have flattery rained down upon her for her amazing sex scene. And yes, it's nicer than a lot of others. I've only read one (compliments of IJ and a bit of Roomie), and it sucked, terribly.
*grins* I love the drama. I suggested it to Aka. This one's my fault. Since Aka comendeered Tall for the sex, I got to use all the Light-Bringer's for this scene. Aka was so tired from staying up till 4:30, she was practically asleep in her spot. Thank you, I'm glad you liked it though.
