((Umm, this is the only place I think I could enter, as I don't really want to open a portal in the middle of a city. And I write in 3rd person, I'm really sorry if I've done anything wrong...))
The small glade was a peaceful place; trees circled it, and a small brook ran through it. A few birds fluttered on a rock and a squirrel watched inquisitively down at the glade from a tree. The peacefulness was broken. A flash of light caused the birds to squawk and fly away, and the squirrel fled. Out of the flash of light came a man. The man looked rather disgruntled. "Ow!" he picked himself up "Where the hell am I?" he looked about, the foresty area he founf himself in didn't look familar. "Blasted wizards..." he ruffled his hair and went to the brook to wash his face. After completing this, he sat on a rock and considered his situation: he was in an unknown place, so he didn't know where anything was. He didn't know if their was anything hostile or magically-powerful, and the portal the wizards had opened had closed. He looked up and waited for someone to walk by...

Rojo looked up. He heard carriage wheels going by some way off. He wondered what to do. He saw a kind of emblem on the side of the carriage, blurred through the trees. By this he considered the occupants to be a high-rated family. Well, he might as find out where he was... He stood up and hurried to the road, so the carriage wouldn't rattle away and stood infront of it. "Oi! Stop a minute!"

the driver glared down at him, scoffing "And who da' hell are you laddy?" he seems upset that this idiot is trying to stop him. After all, he dealt with driving for nobles for a long time, and doesn't want to deal with any unhappy customers, so he was ready to just move on, ignoring the person. Devon, however, is curious. He happens to know most people don't travel these woods. He knocks, a signal to stop the carriage. The driver shrugs, bringing the white tigers to a halt.
devon opens the carriage door--you really can tell from his dressy outfit that he comes from an important family. he smiles, gently and good-natured. "Is there something i can help you with?"

Rojo gave the driver a "ha-ha" look and turned his attention back to Devon. "Right. Where the hell am I?" he asked He was used to dealing with royalty, usually when running way from them very quickly for stealing something.

he get the man a curious look, "Well, you're in Mrue Forest!" he said, as if it were a silly thing to ask. From what Rojo would know, Mrue Forest was known for being haunted and very dangerous towards the center. Most people would choose to go 2 weeks out of the where to go around the forest than through it. It would be quite odd seeing a nobleman of all people choosing to take this dark route. "You do realize it's somewhat dangerous to be out here alone?" he says with a sincere look of concern, "Where are you headed to stranger? And how did you end up here anyways?"

Rojo paused. He didn't know how to reply. Should he tell the man? Experience had taught him "richers" as they called them back home were all gits. Could he trust this man? He seemed...different. If the man had inspected Rojo closer, he would have noticed the half-concealed pistol in a holster on his belt and throwing knives on his belt also. "Well, as for it being dangerous, I didn't know that, and I am very at home with danger, known it my whole life. As for how I got here..." he trailed off awkwardly "can you keep a secret? One that you must not tell anyone, espeacially not your King/Queen/Baron/ Ruler, whatever."

The man seemed perfectly nice--if anything maybe too nice, like he must be naive or innocent. But Devon wasn't stupid, and was indeed very observant. He could hold his own as well, and perhaps slight arrogance is what allowed him to be so pleasant, even despite knowing this man was fully armed.
Rojo, however, would know that male "richers" usually always carried a rapier or sword on them. it was symbolic--but most hadn't even idea of how to properly draw their weapon. so he'd probably think the same of devon.
Devon's eyes almost sparkled. It was always delightful when someone was willing to let him in on something despite his status. Getting to know the people that were supposedly below him was like forbidden fruit to him. He loved their insights and was always curious about the world around him. "Of course I can," he said confidently, "I promise on my honor," he said with slight dramaticism, "that I shall not speak of it."

Rojo gave a mental sigh. Yeah, but how do I know your honor counts? he thought. "Right. Well. As I've noticed your eyes flicking to my pistol and knives, first of all, let's clarrify, I'm not an assassin" he wondered where the hell he was. He'd never seen the emblem on the man's carriage anywhere before. "I'm from...uh, I'm...from..." he stopped for a moment, putting two and two together, he'd never seen the emblem before, and he didn't recognise the forest. he knew every forest on Yorl, and kept a personal record of the nobles and their crests. He voiced his thoughts "I think I'm from another world" he sounded ponderous.

He stopped, gazing at the man for a second. He didn't seem like he was insane--but he didn't necessarily look like he came from another world. He paused, bringing a hand up, lost in deep thought. As impossible as it seemed, there University's physics department had been developing a new theory on parallel worlds.....
As of right now, the map of the universe implanted intot he minds of Venerans was geocentric. The world was at the center, surrounded by darkness and light. There was nothing supposedly outside that--if you were to go far enough, it was believed you'd reach the afterlife....
The driver didn't seem to be buying into this, and he just laughed heartily upon hearing the story. "Sure you are lad! Come on Sir--we best get going!" he seems to have had enough of this stupidity.
"Jenri, please, give me a moment. I am interested...." he says, faintly glancing back at this person. " It seemed hard to believe this person was from another world--but anything could be possible. It seemed arrogant to think that there was nothing outside of Venera. Why--only a few 100 years ago did humanity discover the existance of Tallamous and Ostens. And most STILL think that it's nothing but fables! Furthermore, they had been oblivious to Welis for a while--no one had sailed the seas farther than that in fear of falling off the world. Maybe the stranger was really from their same world, just the other side of it.
Or maybe he was a con-artist hoping to take advantage of his good nature.
Devon sighs, not sure what to think. "Well Sir--if you're story is true, welcome to Venera. My name is Lord Devon van Shire--pleased to make your acquaintance. Please, I invite you to come into my carriage. I'd like to know more about this place you come from..."

Rojo grinned in a mischevious way "Rojo Rodriguez, at your service" he bowed and clambered into the carriage. He was vaguely reminded of his mother telling him never to go with anyone you didn't know. But then again, if he hadn't done just that, he woulnd't be here just now. He looked at the interior of the carriage "Swan-ky" he whistled.

He smiled, returning the bow with a little smile. The driver mumbled something rather unpleasant. He seems to think this isn't a good idea at all....Nonetheless, he gets the carriage moving again.
"umm...thank you? (I think...)" Devon says, not entirely sure if that was a compliment or not. Rojo could tell he is not familiar with this form of slang. The only thing is he can't tell if it's because Devon is a noble isolated from 'peasants' or if this world just have such a term. However, it brings Devon to a new question, "If you really are from another world, how do you suppose we know more or less the same language? "

Rojo paused. "Mabye we don't know the same language. Maybe your world is just a wossname, uh...parallel world to mine. Something the wizards thought up. Maybe we just have the same language. Who knows, I think it best not to argue with these things. The gods have strange ways of doing things." Devon could tell that there was more to Rojo. For one, he understood parallel world theory. And to add to the counts of proof he was from another world, he wore extremely outlandish clothes, suited for a desert or such place. The carriage was comfortable, and Rojo settled down in the warm seat, pondering his predicament once again. The driver grumbled. Rojo suppressed the urge to make a rude gesture at the man, and put a hand into one pocket to feel something cool and smooth. He grinned, if the man didn't believe him, he had a certain trump card up his sleeve, or in his pocket, rather.

"well," Devon smiled, "I see no reason to not believe you for now." he seemed so quaint and kind and pleasant, which made it quite ironic whe he followed up with, "So if you give me any reason to believe that you're lying, i'll just have to disarm you and find out your real motives!" He chuckles, making it impossible to tell if he's just teasing you or not. He leans against the carriage window, "So what is the name of this world you come from?"
