((...I was about to say "Yeah!" but then I thought that wouldn't be as interesting...))
Rojo looks at Devon, hands in his pockets again. He couldn't decide what to say, so he continued walking along the path.

Devon shrugs a little, quietly walking beside him. After a few minutes, he asks, "How long does the journey take?"

Rojo shrugs, then looks at Devon "Two days, give or take,"

"So we'll eventually be setting up camp outside?"

"Probably. Unless you have a really messed up internal clock." Rojo looks at the path beneath his feet "someone had a fight here..."

Devon wouldn't have noticed, but he looks down now that Rojo pointed it out. "what do you think happened?"

Rojo bends over and examines the dust carefully. He moves almost as if doing it from instruction. "Monk hand-to-hand initiation test, I think..."

"Initiation test? So it was like a practice spar?"

Rojo looks up and nods "Yup. Monks fight hand-to-hand to prove their discipline. I hear the more advanced ones do it on these great bridges built in the mountains."

"I see...Well, at least that means that there wasn't a bandit attack or something, meaning we'd have to be on guard." He smiles.

Rojo straightens up and waggles a knowing finger at Devon "Always be on your guard,"

His shoulders flump, rolling his eyes, as if he were a child being scolded by a parent. "I know, I know..."

Rojo grinned. "Moaning never got anything done, did it? Keep your head down, and get on with it," he looked slightly up "my master always used to say that, dirty old blighter."

Devon raises an eyebrow, obviously NEVER being told to 'keep his head down.' "But if you do that, you won't be able to see as well, and then you'd be easy prey when something attacks you! Besides, the ground isn't very interesting to look at. I think this statement is flawed."

Rojo shook his head "Not when the work involves mucking out the horses, it doesn't."
