Hey, Seven, I was thinking about creating a new character for DP, the only problem is...he swears a lot. And he does use the word "n*gger" in speech. But before you start asking why, it's because he's black, and therefor uses it to refer to people he's close to, or whatever. Would you be okay with that?  |

Rojo, dear Rojo, let me tell you a quick story.
Once upon a time, Serena joined a board because on of her friend's boyfriend's friend's made it. On this board, Serena tried to make a character that had just entered the scene, and was vicious and mean to other people. However, as soon as Serena's character had entered the scene, the Administrator, my friend's boyfriend's friend's, decided that he not only knew my character, but was all chummy chum with him too. Being the good sport that I am, I told him that he was meta-gaming, we never agreed that our characters would know one another and therefore, he COULDN'T know my character.
For some odd reason, this made the administrator doubt the fact that he knew me in real life, and he started harboring beliefs that perhaps I was a guest that joined his board. In any case, he never asked me who I was, and since Pan was also on the boards, I just figured he knew.
Furthermore, after said incident, I began rping. Of course, staying in character, I did not treat HIS character chummy-chum friendly. Apparently, this was highly distressing for our dear Admin, and he couldn't grasp the concept that I wasn't making personal attacks on him, I was just rping my character---and despite whatever he believes, not EVERYONE in the world is going to like you. I did not feel that my attacks were so awful though, I hadn't been on the boards long (only a few days) so I hadn't had much time to really set in. I had only taunted his character a little, from the time he jumped up and foolishly claimed to have known me.
However, our dear admin didn't have the capability to deal with someone "not liking" him and his every action (and terrible rping), so what does he do? He deletes my account without a word to me.
Of course, this did not go over well with me. This sort of thing wasn't even a first time occurrence with him (as my my friend's boyfriend also had a vampire rp forum at the time, and this administrator had been a moderator on that vampire forum. That time, my friend Demetri asked me to do him a favor--namely he had created a 2nd character, Lestat actually, in secret with a second email account, but not wanting to be suspected of it, he wanted me to log on at the same time he had. This was a very fond memory for us, because the two vampires were trouncing around, taunting and annoying a few poor chaps. However, this same person got angry and deleted all of our posts! We were both quite pissed, and complained once more, though nothing happened.)
In any case, to make many long stories short, I shall never punish you for the type of character you decide to make. This is a ROLEPLAYING forum after all, and I know that whatever character you make does not necessarily reflect your views--and in fact, it's presence on a forum is only adding diversity to the rp community. Furthermore, it's really impossible to say that any character is a poor portrayal of something (i.e. Saying that a making a black character who says the N'word is racist) is also false, since the world is diverse enough that most any character is possible.
So it's fine with me if you want to make him rojo. I'm only going to say one thing. Since the N-word is a racial swear and could be accidentally taken out of the rp context, I just ask that you continue to censor the 'i' in the word with '*' like you did above.

I don't feel I was owned. If anything, he was owned because I got to chew him out--and then he started getting upset, saying "I'm sorry, I didn't know it was you...I'll make you a moderator..." etc, etc. Even so, I didn't feel like rping with him anymore, so I just never re-registered for his boards---and honestly, his board was so awful it died about a week after I left anyways!
