Tall watches as the two leave, then sighs once they're gone.

Darad raises an eyebrow. "You sure you don't want to read?"

He shrugs. "Yeah sure. I guess that would be nice. Thanks."

Darad reaches over the the book shelf and pulls out a seemingly random book. "I'd say start with Sun's Shadow."

Tall takes the book, inspecting it for a second, to see if it is one of Aka's ancestor's biographies, or just a book of fiction.

The book is a small hardcover, and the majority of the front is yellow-gold, with a pair on the left side, a man and a boy. The far right is dark, silvery-blue, with a dark girl watching the pair. The author of the book is Ash Zahir.

Unable to reach his conclusion, Tall opens up the book and begins to read.

I was always assured of my superiority. I had powers my subjects lacked, I aged at a different rate, and as such, I was destined to rule. All through my training, my father had engrained these facts in my mind. So as I stared down at my new baby half-brother, my mind was boggled. His frame was so fragile, but I knew that would change. He would be fully grown before my body hit true puberty, and his children would be in command long before I could call myself an adult. And this blip on the radar in my father’s life had replaced me in his affection. My place in the world was now a precarious one. This child, though very much more than human, was about to be handed the life of a god. My life. And it was only a matter of time until my father decided that, considering he had the heir he had always dreamed of, I was nothing more than an unnecessary burden.

The book was about Aka. That much was obvious. He should have figured sooner, considering the cover, but he had to make sure. In any case, he kept reading.
((And watch, the book ISN'T about Aka....))

Eventually, probably right before Tall reaches the climax of the book, i.e. where the main character confronts her 'younger' brother, Aka returns, looking completely dead.

"Aka!" Tall drops the book, jumping to his feet and running over. "What the hell happened to you?"

Aka moves to the bed and collapses onto it. "How long have I been gone?"
"About four hours," Darad replies after dodging her fall.
"Oh... My... God..." she murmurs.

Tall does the math quickly. "You were in the Dark Realm for two days? What happened?"
