Mikaki closed his eyes, breathing in a deeper breath as he unwittingly visualized all she was describing as she narrated it. "I'm so sorry Kealya. If I had been there, rather than running off..."
"I know Nef. I understand," he said, reaching over to cup the side of her face, his thumb softly stroking. Then he faintly chuckled. "How many more days of this do I have? Two, I hope?" He knew it was actually 2 and a half, since the day had been interrupted with Kealya's attack.

"Hey..." Kealya opened her eyes now reaching out to take his hand again. "You didn't know that was going to happen and I didn't know as well. But you came to me when my dragon called for you and honestly you save me life. I might... I might have been in worse shape by the time that Nef was able to get to me..." Kealya looked away now the thought of her dyeing hadn't crossed her mind till that moment.
Nef leaned her face into his hand and gave a little laugh. "Who knows might be shorter. I think some of the princes might have left after tonight. I know I wouldn't want to stick around after seeing that if I was one of them."

"I'll be more careful next time. I need to be, with all these strangers around--like Daemon wasn't enough," he softly grumbled. He looked at her, and after a moment of hesitance, he gently brushed his large hand over her forehead, trying to soothe over the pain.
"I certainly hope so," he murmured. He didn't like to admit it, but he felt beat. "Come on, let's go to bed."

Kealya shut her eyes as she felt his hand on her forehead. "I know you will be." She said in a joking manner. She opens her eyes just slightly now looking at Mikaki. "Will you stay with me tonight?..."
Nef nodded her head crawling into bed now. "I do believe some have left so hopefully this won't be going on for much longer."

Mikaki nodded. "Yes Kealya. I will stay with you," he murmured.
Daemon followed her, deeply breathing out. He put his arm beneath Nef's head. He had thought he would stay awake to respond to Nef, but before he even realized it, he had passed out.

The next morning Nef and Daemon where greeted by a knock on the door. It was a little later in the day that Isis came to wake the two up. Nef moved around a bit in the bed rolling over to face Daemon now. "Daemon... Wake up." She leaned closer to him kissing him lightly on the lips to wake him.

Daemon was fast asleep. His head was cocked the side, off of his pillow, sprawled out in a position that didn't look like it could be comfortable, so contrary to how soundly he was sleeping.

Nef started at him for a moment and blinked. She had never seen him like this before and she reach out now giving him a little shake. "Daemon come on it's time to get up!"

Daemon's body shook with how she was shaking him, but he simply flumped over, still asleep.

"Damn it Daemon." Nef got up from the bed now walking into the other room where their two small girls where up and moving around. Nef walked over and picked them both up one in each arm and walked back into the room. "Okay girls you have to help me wake up daddy." Nef said looking down at them both The nodded their head but didn't expect for Nef to toss them right onto their father. Both girls let out a yell as they landed on him.

"GAH!" Daemon exclaimed at the sudden jolt and all of the yelling, his eyes wide and startled like a terrified cat. "What the--?" He looked around himself, confused and anxious. "What the heck... happened?"

Usha and Ank crawled off of him and sat next to him on the bed and Nef put her hands on her hips. "I couldn't wake you up so I thought that maybe the girls could help me." "Mom threw us onto you." Usha said glaring at her mother.

"Yes, I mean, no, I mean..." Daemon shook his head, looking earnestly confused. "I was like... unconscious. It was so strange..." he murmured.

Usha wrapped her arms around her father now as Nef gave a laugh. "Daemon that is called sleeping~" Ank looked to her mother and than back to her father. "You weren't mentally aware while you where sleeping father?"

"Sleeping?" he asked incredulously at his wife. "I've slept for a thousand years, and it was not that." he said, his tone changing from confused to huffy. "Simple minded mortals fall unconscious when they sleep! I do not!" he proclaimed, purposefully ignoring Ank's comment as he didn't want to recognize it.
